I heard that the chance of Trump going to prison was pretty much a non reality as he is in his 70's,is a non violent offender and the security problem would be overwhelming. Besides the things already mentioned, I also think that a lot of people would look upon a prison sentence as election interference. Since the 34 convictions stem from the same crime, if he is sentenced to prison, he would most likely serve his time concurrently.

Wish I knew. There are millions of people in these states and the usual sample is 1k, though, which is a very small part of the overall population. So if you've never been polled, it should figure. I think they just try to include responses that rep an average of the voting groups in the whole state (or otherwise adjust for it). And all this still doesn't tell us who's gonna care enough to actually show up on polling day. Only tells us their preference when the pollsters manage to make contact.

@@AnnetteMcqueen Pollsters aren't stupid. A ton of $ is spent on polls by clients who also aren't stupid, that's how they earned/kept that $. Cellphones and caller ID have made random dialling far less valid because of the low response rate comes with a high risk of bias. So they use other methods. Just one is demographic correction, weighting by group so if eg young women don't answer stranger calls, the ones who do have their answer count more. Not perfect but it helps. Other methods are to use different random sampling techniques with direct approach to get higher participation. There are a lot of techniques and good data is very valuable so they can work hard to get it.

As the vaccine became available (which was started by Trump) during the Biden administration, people went back to work and the pandemic lessened. The price of goods went up as the cost to transport those goods increased. It was NOT due to price-gouging. I'm not saying that price-gouging is not going on. There are some retail companies that are guilty of that. What I'm saying is that I wouldn't blame the companies that produce our food as being "price-gougers" Their margins are a lot lower. As the fuel prices increased, they had to pass on the price increases on to the consumers. The price of of gas has come down a little. That is the basic reason why Kamala has abandoned her "Anti-fracking" stance. She and Biden realize that this country is still very much dependent on fossil fuels. Taking an average of all the polls is the cheap and nasty way of going about it. You need to use multiple weighting methods to get anything approaching an accurate estimate, and that's assuming the polling methods were sound to begin with.
