That was a very great run by Noah. I noticed he has a higher knee strike this year. Noticed that when he caught Knighton in that 19.6 race. What a year for him

He has a great coach. Dropping down to the 100 is working on his acceleration and take off. Not sure what the hell Knighton is doing. He has amazing acceleration, but he is almost running the same 200 every week. I know he is young, but imagine if Knighton works on stamina.

Whoever is Noah Lyes coach is, he or she is a fantastic coach. I see other runners running a 200 every other week and not even working on their weaknesses. Instead it seems like they are burning themselves out. See how Noah Lyes is dropping down to the 100 to work on his take off and acceleration. If he stays healthy, he has a good shot running in the high 19.2's possibly next year. But that world record of 19.19 is a whole another monster.

Aside from Usain Bolt,Tyson Gay,& Prime Yohan Blake,Noah Lyles Has one of the best top end speed. His start is the only reason he isn’t running 9.7 or better. He clearly has top end spend to run 9.6 but his start isn’t among the greatest ever so 9.8 stands as his best but if he had an amazing start like he did in his 200m American record,he can run 9.6
@harmankardon478

that was a solid start, he needs more terminal speed to be sub 9.80 in the 100m... don't confuse great speed endurance (as we see here) with awesome terminal speed of the runners you mentioned.

Bloody Hell..... Never been a huge Lyles fan personally, but if that man gets his 100m Start DOWN... 😨😨 he may be unbeatable?? The problem is.... and I've Harped about this with Degrasse for years, "Great Starts" have not been one of Noah's strengths. But like in this race, when he DOES get a Decent start, he's in the driver's seat. Degrasse is the EXACT same in that he RARELY gets decent starts, usually "average at best" and uses his insane top end speed to close gaps. ( although it's worth mentioning that in the Prefontaine Classic, right after the Olympics where he won Bronze, he got that Rare GREAT start and smoked the field. A field that had Kerley, Gatlin, Norman etc ...I think he ran 9.74 with a 2.3wind ..?? Crazy. All about that start in the 100m. ) Anyway, if Lyles can improve his start like this one here.... yikes for all other dude's.
