Wallace Spearmon has a top-end speed that can match Usain's one. For example: in 100m Bolt smokes him in the first 50m but the second half race splits say Spearmon closes a bit of gap. Same thing in the 200m. Spearmon gets out the curve quite behind Bolt, of course, but in the second half he closes a bit of gap. Look also at that 4x100m relay final leg! From the baton change to the first 50m Bolt obviously smokes Spearmon, but then he finds the form and hold Bolt speed almost taking THE GOAT! For these reasons he runs the final leg in relays and has a pb of 19.6 and 9.89 over 200 and 100. Really fast top bend!
@TheSk8erGamer
@TheSk8erGamer 2 жыл бұрын
I think you mean he has the speed endurance that can match Usain. Not top end speed…
@Trackreator
@Trackreator 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheSk8erGamer Yes you are right. Spearmon anyway has a very good top end. For example Bolt, in 200 dominates the most from 50m to 150m, and then holds the speed whereas Spearmon starts around 100m mark and hold more or less till the end…
@Pumpxkin
@Pumpxkin 2 жыл бұрын
That's why when I look at Joseph Fahnbulleh, he reminds me of Wallace Spearmon and Tyson Gay mixed together with Bolt's strides. Sluggish start, but ridiculous final kick and speed maintenance.

Hey, I know this video is over 2 years old but please can you do another (possibly updated) video on the greatest comebacks (or not) as I feel thee’s been quite a few since this video came out!
@sprintspeedmedia
@sprintspeedmedia 3 ай бұрын
I have saved clips of new comebacks that happened in the past 2 years but I don't know if there were enough good ones to make it worth making a video using them and I'm out of ideas as far as editing goes so I don't know if I'll make a new comebacks video but it's possible at some point
@AthleticsEditz
@AthleticsEditz 3 ай бұрын
@@sprintspeedmedia Yeah I get that it’s difficult to find instances where a comeback that is good happens, and also the editing takes time as well so I fully understand if you can’t/don’t want to make another video. Mind you, at least you got a lot of views from the first 2 videos (especially the first one)! Appreciate this channel a lot man!

This might be outrageous but my favorite in the relay anchor is De Grasse. The guy's top end is insane! Maybe he's not going to be in the medal discussion for the 100m but as long as he's there, Canada is a medal threat!

I am a sports fan...sure, I know all lot of sprinters by sight. But there are MANY I don't....even "name" sprinters, especially the women. We don't see them that often. You are left thinking, "Is that XYZ?" So...my point. Would it have been THAT difficult to add the names of the sprinters below their photos? I guess you are a site for elite viewers only.

not a fact. If he had a better start, then he would spend more energy on it. That is, it could prevent him from picking up speed at the end. This should also be taken into account. Not everything is so simple

The most exciting for me was watching Tortu anchor the Italian team in the 4x100 in the Tokyo Olympics! I love seeing countries win a medal in an event they’ve never won before. It was electric watching him win. The British guy showed such poor sportsmanship by crying like a baby - I’d never seen that before. Britain has a great team no reason to act like an azz just because you came in second.

Best comebacks ever? She's not gonna be on this. Go watch some real classic races before you speak. She hasn't been in any so far (at least where she won or was close). She came last place when Elaine Thompson ran 10.54 secs (2nd fastest ever) so no need to bring her up.

@@gmaxsfoodfitness3035 seems like you didn’t pay attention to her until she lost to Elaine in 2021 so lemme give you a little info since you seem to be lost 2019 sec 4x1 she ran down 2 people bring her team up from 4th to first she also at the 2019 ncaa championship she almost caught terry on the anchor leg you also seem to forget she was the fastest 21 year old ever running multiple 10.7s also the fastest 19 year old running time of 10.75 pulling 15m or so before the line also ran windy and 10.65 no other athlete has Done that seated at third fastest 22 year old to ever exist only person faster was Elaine pb 10.84 her season best 0.01 slower Shelly is the only person to ever run faster so before you try and discredit her and throw shade on her learn more about her
