I mean, it's not 9.65 as he had predicted. Really, really far from it, but nevertheless, congrats on the win.

9.80s are the new standard of Championship sprinting. The world was feasted to a treat during the era of Bolt, Gay, Blake, Gatlin and Asafa!!!

9.80's sort started with Maurice Greene in the late 90's and early 2000's. His latter two world titles were 9.80 and 9.82 (ran that by pulling up in the last 10-15 meters with a quad injury). The next generation after Greene, as mentioned above, took it to the next level, especially the GOAT Bolt.

He's on pace to do both. He just ran 9.83 with no tail wind, and he has been drastically improving his start. His start has always been his problem. He may or may not ever reach 9.65, but I believe he has it in him to do so. Man is just confident in his ability, and is not afraid to share it with the world, regardless of whether he attains it or not. Why hate on him for entertaining us? Isn't that what pro athletes are supposed to do? Entertain

If I’m a world class athlete you expect me to say I’m going to run 10.5? You have to think it’s possible for it to become a reality even if you fall short.

@@Ric_Jamesthere's a difference between confidence and out right deluded. Lyles hasn't even gone under 9.85 before the final and he's says he'd run 9.65💀. 9.83 in a 0 wind is great but Bolt literally jogged 9.69 into a 0 wind and he only managed to go under 9.65 twice in his career

Congrats to Noah Lyles for the gold and Congrats to Letsile Tebogo a silver at 20, that is impressive. You almost took Johan Blake’s record. Bolt got his first silver in 200 at 21 so you are in great company if you keep pushing.
