@@trolltracker I respect that people do indeed like to talk about the Phantom GX and Luna 2 in a negative manner, I myself made a whole video on that being an issue. However, I think my experience of reviewing boots gives me some authority to make observations about boots, and make the claim that I consider some of these observations regarding the GX and Luna 2 to be flaws. Of course, you may very much not be aware that I do review boots so that's fair enough. You'll also note I didn't say these were bad at all, I actually think they're a great boot (as stated above) and an improvement over the previous generation, but no boot is perfect. For some specific flaws as you asked, I believe the soleplate is too soft in the midfoot, that applies to both FG and AG models. Now you may call that a preference, but as the boot is built on a very wide last using a vet soft upper the narrowness of particularly the FG model combined with the flexible soleplate makes the boot feel unbalanced and disconnected, some stiffness and better width in the soleplate would have eliminated this issue, or flaw in my opinion if you will. So to answer your question directly, yes, I think I can call some of my issues flaws.

Thanks for the respectful, reasoned reply. I enjoy your videos and certainly value your takes. I will admit I'm sensitive to all of the *internet* negativity around recent Nike releases; in particular tiempo legend 10 (due to lack of kangaroo skin, of all things), and phantom Luna iterations (due to Nike wanting to offer a soleplate which is safer, and marketed to female footballers ~GASP~). It seems to me that many, many people who never even try these high-end boots have made up their apparent hive-mind. I find the GX, gx2 elites and Tiempo elites to be world-class despite the reviews online & youtube comments sections.

I have the white ones of these and theyve been holding up really well on indoor turf! Fit real snug and i have a weird heel that makes it difficult for me to find good boots that dont blister for weeks. Lockdown and soleplate dont mix well if your laces arent nice and tight. If you’re too aggressive on a cut on turf youll feel it in your joints if you’re not careful. Definitely buy the AGs soleplate for obvious reasons. Other than that these boots are 👌🏽

Noah, Phantoms are just the best for me. There is no better shoe than for my foot shape than the Phantoms, but i’m worried about one thing. I just transferred to a different club, the league is mostly played on FG, but ironically my club trains and plays on AG. I just got the Nike Phantoms Luna II and they are phenomenal, however I haven’t tried them on turf yet. What do you think I should do? I can’t imagine myself playing in different boots than the Phantoms

Thanks so much for making this video, I just ordered these and came in today and they feel really good. At first, I was going to get the vapor 15s but after watching your video I’ve changed my mind because I also have wide foot where it’s big in the mid foot area. I wear my superfly 9 elite that I’ve had for a year and they absolutely cramp my feet😂. My vapor 15 academy feels perfect but are extremely beat. I don’t know if they are different in terms of width. How do these compare to Phantom Venom's? I find the venoms still my favourite boot. Way softer than most others, great touch and feel on the ball and cleaner striking area.

I’ve been wearing superfly 9s for the past season and when I changed to phantom luna 2 elites fg oh boy the stud made such a difference (in a good way) the studs feel more aggressively pushing also in a good way.

I currently wear a US Men size 9, for the adidas predator accuracy.2's. When I went to the store to try these on the size 9 was too loose ( in the heel) but the size 8.5 was too tight (in the toe box). I ended up ordering the size 8.5 which is a bit tight and a bit uncomfortable. I was wondering if it will loosen up a bit if I daily them almost everyday for school and club practice? And if not should I return them and get the size 9, even though it's loose and doesn't feel as secure? I also forgot to mention I tried the FG model at the store but ended up ordering the AG model, if that changes anything.

I had Phantom gx I in 43 and it keeps giving me blister on the toes after few matches so I finally gave up on them, for the phantom II I took size 44 I feel it’s a lil bit long and wide for me that I have to tight up the laces so much that the lace area is squeezed. but after the first match I still had blister on my toe, at this point I just don’t know what’s the right size for me

Had both the tongue version and laceless version pred elite, bought the gx2 last week after Noah’s recommendation and they are so much more comfortable straight out the box! Constructed and engineered to a higher standard too in my opinion. Adidas look rough around the edges Nikes look beautifully finished

Depends what fits you the best mate! They're both great options, although if you fit in both and you only have FG options, go for the Predator, that soleplate is much better as a hybrid AG/FG than the FG model of the GX2

yo noah! love the review btw. for context i commented on a video of yours about if you had any experience with the pro version of the mizuno morelia, because i was gonna by them. but i just wanted to say that i have been loving them, and im just dreaming about how the MIJ version would be like😍😅! the only problem i have had with the mizunos is that when i train very much, only using those shoes and not switching between different boots, my achilles gets very sore and it is painful cuz of the high heel that is a bit too stiff. but yeah, i have decided to rock with the phantom luna 2s now and i am very excited to use them this season! i only play on ag pitches, but i have buyed the fg version, but luckily i have different boots to switvh between, so i am thinking of the lunas to be my match boots primarily. why is the soleplate bad for ag, is it because the risk of injuries or? let me know Noah, and i love your work man! keep it up❤

No worries mate! I recommend whichever boots FIT your son the best 🤝 At the end of the day, his position doesn't matter at all - it's about his foot shape and the boots that best fit him. If possible, I'd have him try on as many boots as he can in store to figure out what suits him best.

I am a skinny guy with skinny feet, I always liked the tight fit. The GX 2 is pretty much an upgrade from the original GX on everything apart from the lockdown if I understand correctly.. is that very noticable??? cause if the sifference is a lot I just stick with my original GX but if the GX2 is still somewhat tight I will try Please can someone help

It's not super noticeable, no! 🤝 Keep in mind the GX2 is not a skinny fitting pair of boots though. Just be aware! I would go for the Vapor 16 elite instead - same materials but narrower
