I’m still bummed that these didn’t work for you! I would say that the DF version helps with that gap slightly, but it still doesn’t make it 100%. Also glad to see that the hot water trick worked for you too! Only difference I did from you, was keep the boots on my feet when I did the hot water. I would move my feet in them in the hot water for about 10 min, then take them out & where em around the house like you did! But great review! This longer wear review was much appreciated! Hi mate! I outline a lot of it in the video - the point is that I always soaked them before I went and trained!

Man I really wanted to love these boots. That extra length just keeps me away from liking then. Nonetheless, I still played with them in my size. I don’t see going down half a size as an option. My technique for breaking in boots is using a blow dryer with them on. Obviously keep the blow dryer moving at all times enough just to get the boots hot enough to soften them up. Work pretty good in my opinion.

my technique for breaking them in is buying them right when the offseason starts and working out 5 times a week. and when it rains, they break in a little faster. if youre buying cleats during the middle of the season, ur lost. no need for hairdryer

You inspired me on my new GT2’s Noah! Did the hot water trick (only for a few minutes) and it’s amazing they became a lot softer! I can tell it worked because they are even a bit softer than my other pair which I’ve played for over a year with! Im going to keep those ones as they are so I’ve got options. I’m bummed because I’m away this weekend and dying to get a chance to test them out as soon as I can

Hey man great video. I was planning on going half a size down myself on this particular colourway in AG. The last time I bought these in US8 (whereas my actual size is 7.5 US), there was almost an inch of space in the toe area. Had to use an extra insole and a pair of socks to fill up the space but the width had no issue. Was scared of going a full size down from US 8 to 7s. But your video gave me full confidence. But I had another issue. I asked you a few days ago about your preferred boot between this and the Vapor 15. You chose the latter. What I wanted to know is that, when you wore the new Vapors, did those have any extra room in the toe area ? If so how much? Because I'm planning on buying the new vapor 15 AG in US 7.5s. I'm worried if i have to stay true to size, or go up or down half a size. These are expensive investments but all worth the pain. You're helping us enthusiasts a lot with these real life practical boot reviews. I prefer watching your videos over Unisoort and Soccerreviewsforyou. 💗 All the way from India 🇮🇳

I tried so hard with these as well. great touch but not worth the pain they caused. Either they should be softer + stretchier, or nike should actually make wide variations of their synthetic boots. They do this with some of their trainers, and I'm sure there would be demand for this, even if it was nike ID only or something. It seems people with wide feet still HAVE to wear k-leather boots, or find old ones that luckily fit their foot well. It's 2022 this shouldn't still be the case. There should consistently be amazing, comfortable synthetic options for wide feet, especially from the top dog that is nike.

I agree mate! I'm so glad New Balance is doing it - they're stuff is really good but not QUITE as good as the nike/adidas/puma stuff. At some point one of the companies will come out with a wide fit synthetic or knit boot that CRUSHES in sales because all the wide footed people will wear them 😂

I have a pair of GT2 8 that's too snug but also bought a pair of GT1 in the med collar version, I have a feeling that might work better. But I still find myself reaching for my Superfly 4 and Nemesis when it comes game time.

Noah, shorten your Break in time by just wearing them in tub 🛀 with feet in boots . Then juggle ball for awhile ( helps beat on upper to soften up. The movement also helps in stretching. It’s definitely the cut( at top) of the boot where you have that gap . Have had it myself and heard from others .

I can’t fit those so I did Nemesis with the support bandage and was good with no gaping. Favorite as of now is that freak low cut. Fit is good around ankle. U had pair didn’t you??

Great video man!! Was really interesting seeing this break-in process. I'm debating buying some Vapor 12 or 13 AG but have had some pretty rough break-in experiences with Vapor 12s/13s in the past (blisters on the tops of my toes). Do you think the hot water trick would help soften the toebox and alleviate some of the pressure on my toes?

For me, the bottom line of this video is also to show that if a boot doesn't quite fit right out of the box, it probably won't be "the best" boot for you as a person. In your case, I might even try a different silo from Nike or one of the other brands so you DON'T have to go through the entire process I went through in the video 😅

I have the gt2 and im actually going to return them. They fit great for me in the midfoot but my toes are being absolutely crushed. On pictures it looks like the first gen Gt gas a little rounder toebox and is less pointy in comparison to th gt2. Whats your experience? Also I’ve heard people that say the gt is a little stretchier than the gt2. In your experience is that true?

i have the same thing i will wear them for 10 mins or i play for a half and they are fine and then i have to take them off and if i touch the side of my foot im in agony or sometimes it is just agony without the touch

and why wouldnt u keep ur foot in the boot while breaking them in? fill up the tub with hot water and stick ur feet in. then go outside and run in them while they dry and form to ur foot?

Sometimes it works for me! I don't want to hurt my feet though, so I tend to wait until the boots are out of the tub to put them on 👍🏼 For you it might be different!

I KNOW! Such a bummer! But that was also kind of expected given my experience with the GT 1 and the other versions I reviewed already... I'd say it's totally personal preference! I tend to believe it's better to have tighter fitting boots to avoid any internal slippage --> injury, but for some people they like having room in the toebox 🤙🏼
