Did you ever think about some snakes/spiders hiding in the tree, where you put your hands for climbing. Costa Rica has some insects which like to hide in some trees. I‘m just wondering. Nice Video btw. 🔥

idk how you retrieved your canopy anchor as i saw you repelled down on srs, but, in tree climbing for arborist work we use retrievable friction savers. Two different size rings that reduce friction in canopy when working then when you come down you tie a knot in one end and when you yank the rope down it grabs on the smaller ring and retrieves the anchor!

I really enjoyed the video and I have only one concern, do you know that slings are a piece of static equipment? It's not supposed to be used as an anchor if you know you are going to climb above it and it wil break if you fall on it factor 1+ fall). Use a piece of dynamic rope or other dynamic equipment for better safety, especially when your ascending above the anchor point.

just liked and sub'd - Wow!!...what a great adventure... sleeping in the rain...in a tent,..suspended in a rainforest canopy....in Costa Rica!!! .. on Christmas eve !!.... Pro tip, I've used a couple of Neodymium fishing magnets for bringing up gear when solo climbing/camping. It saves ya repel/climb trip back - Ya just need to position your gear tote with the magnet in an outside pocket and then drop a rope with another magnet attached and CLICK!! it's like fishing !
