Noah, you are very wise for your age. Right now with so many people becoming homeless because of the terrible economy, they should be fixed up as best as possible and let homeless families live in them.

Great finds! I agree it’s a shame for those places to just rot away when so many people have nowhere to live. Thanks for sharing with us!

Yeah, but refurbishing from basement to attic is gonna be pricey, & you never know how OTHER kinds of damage & deterioration are waiting.

We had that amber Plexiglas with the little circle designs on it in our house built in 1968. It was part of a room divider at our house.

Just how much time, labor, and money would it take to make them livable ? That's a major factor, I think.

That is a very cool place with the hot tub, garage and pool. If place was for sale I would buy it for $15,000 then get house back in order, get pool back up and running and turn shop into a casita and hang out place with a TV area and pool table.😊👍

It is called corporate greed. They buy up all inexpensive properties and build million dollar homes. Just look at what is happening in greenbelt area.

I forget exactly why, but I know a friend of mine who used to grow pot, and his grow space had the fan at the bottom of the room instead of the ceiling. No idea why, but I'm sure he had his reasons.

Hello 👋 I’m watching now in Australia 🇦🇺. Such a shame they’re just left to rot away , and for people to vandal . We have the same problem here. There’s an abandoned nursing facility in my town, only been empty a few years and has been smashed to pieces etc , now it’s dangerous and an eyesore . Could have been renovated and used for housing.

I'm surprised that the second house you showed , didn't have a bathroom upstairs. I would hate that, having to go all the way downstairs to use the bathroom.

Houses up until the late sixties had hardwood floors, but the carpet became popular and people covered them. Then they quit with the expense of the wood floors and just laid carpet over the subfloor. So from the seventies on, all you got were carpets over subflooring.

Back in the '60s most homes were built with hardwood floors...wall to wall carpets were a luxury. So many people carpeted over the hardwood floors! My parents only had carpet in the living room. My mom had to wax the hardwood once a year...we had a big buffer machine! Lol!

Its so odd that in the 70's many put carpet over beautiful hardwood floors. Then now everyone goes back to hardwood floors or want hardwood floors. Me personally always like hardwood floors. Thats 60-70's green tile in that 1st bathroom. I've seen on some home makeover shows where they paint over some of the wood paneling. For me I don't like it. I would just remove the paneling.

What a nice little neighborhood. Its a shame that these developers are allowed to buy up entire neighbourhoods and let them rot so they can eventually build more homes and charge 6x the price even though there are more in the same amount of space. I dont understand why they dont work with the existing homes, theres plenty of space around them to build more
