I am going to specifically look for handmade tequila from now on. Now I know why Tequila is so much better in Mexico.

its also because the USA adds 15% more alcohol to a bottle of the same branding. Tequila is 35% in Mexico, its 40% in the USA.

How long does it stay in the oak barrels to age? Are the barrels fired on the inside like whiskey barrels?
@ericktellez7632 Жыл бұрын
Blancos are only stored for about 3 months and up to a year, reposados from a minimum of 1 year to 3 years and añejos go from 3 to 5 years in the barrel, not all of the tequila are stored in roasted barrels but some special editions are stored for 3 to 5 years in roasted whiskey barrels.

Economics of transport make distant products expensive. People ferment whatever they have available at low cost. I make my own wine. $14 of ingredients makes 15 bottles @1.5 liter. I would spend $120 if I bought that wine at the store. Cost and taste dominate food choice, yes, even in America.
