democracynow.org - At least eight people have died in California as climate change-fueled wildfires rage statewide. In total, firefighters are battling seventeen wildfires blazing across California, engulfing more than 200,000 acres and forcing mass evacuations, including in Yosemite National Park. The fires comes amid a surge of deadly extreme weather worldwide, including in India, where more than 500 people have died as a result of flooding and heavy rains in recent weeks. Scientists have linked increased flooding and rainfall to climate change. For more we speak with world-renowned political dissident, author, and linguist Noam Chomsky. He is a laureate professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Arizona and Professor Emeritus at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he taught for more than 50 years.

This is the raw truth - something America isn't ready for, won't embrace, because it's too painful. Chomsky has always been the beacon of truth (since the early 1960s) which is why (after over 100 books and 50 honorary PhDs from universities all over the world, including his own from MIT) he STILL hasn't ever been invited to any of the major news talk-shows. For years he was censored from major publishers (but not in Europe). He simply knows too much and asks the "wrong" questions. This always makes me depressed and enraged. But it also tells me to get off my ass and tell the truth DESPITE all the ignorant, self-righteous, controlling, conservative assholes out there in America.

Ah Noam, brilliant insights as always. Why is the world so deaf to your perspective? You may not always be as appreciative of all the perspectives. But your analysis is head and shoulders above just about anyone else's. You're old and fading. Please stay with us as long as possible.

The great thing about Noam and his ideology is that it's entirely mechanical. Pull the string the Noam doll speaks, 'that may be so, but we're missing point by refusing to speak about the US history of imperialism in eastern Cuba'.

Yep, organized human life. If we don't bind together to tackle this problem civilization will likely end. It won't mean the end of humanity, but would set us back a few hundred years at least. I'm hoping the shared crises will bind us together again and make us one "tribe". The next generation has me very hopeful.

lets face it, it really is a political move to sooth the Labour Parties base, less than 4% of sales are to overseas investors. I build houses mostly for immigrants and they bring money to our country, looking for a better life for themselves and their kids, we need immigrants. Most of our growth in GDP is from these new comers, my clients are Chinese and Iranians which bring a wealth of energy and enthusiasm that I really enjoy. They try hard to learn our language and while they are useless at playing rugby they appreciate our hard work and pay a fair wage. T

We need to face the truth - The leaders should know fire jumps, spreads in a non-linear manner and heat feeds the fire. With the exponentially increased amount of heat being released by the technological world into the environment, the scenario is set for more of the climatic disaster of all forms, unless we change our thinking and develop New technologies, we are doomed. We should awaken to the fact that Our ecosphere and life are sustained by a parallel and multiple world design. It works on two vital ratios; one is energy to matter ratio and other is of O2 to CO2 ratio. The ecosphere is designed to balance the heat and temperature within a limit, by two opposing forces. With industrial era, humanity has been 1. Exponentially increasing the heat being released to the environment 2. Reduced the time being given to earth to absorb the heat and transform it. 3. He has been recklessly felling forest and now losing it to uncontrolled forest fire and thus losing the base that converts light and heat into biological mass and sustains O2 to CO2 balance. Consequently, the ecosphere is unstable and species are dying out. The environment is peaking and falling as never before. I had predicted long back huge destruction coming. However, I still persist these are only stress on humanity to awaken to Know Truth and God beyond religions. It is a matter of knowing certain Principle and Design on which Nature and Cosmos works and quickly act to pacify earth and her aggravated forces and make a correction in our life and culture to live in peace with her

Noam is one of those guys you love to listen to when you're depressed. His outlook has been grim for 50 years. You would think he would have stopped presenting himself as having insight when his beloved socialist countries followed the same path they always do and failed, bringing misery and destruction to all those people.

I'm at the acceptance phase of DABDA by Dr. Kubler Ross. VSED, the most humane, least painful way to exit, in the final moments when all surrounding life is in an inferno.-Worst Case Scenario. Best Case Scenario- All nations unite and save the planet with algae, biofuels, new ways of rebuilding sustainable infrastructure, and I get the grudge and hatred towards U.S., but I'm hoping all the nations STOP this Orange Hitler, and save us sane people from this tyranical government. But likely that won't happen. I just daydream about this almost half of my day, while the other half, preparing for *the day.* Dr. McPherson is spot on, and he's ostracized for being an Honest and Noble whistleblower. *If only Carl Sagan and Noam Chomsky could've been our Presidents*

There's no evidence that Trump allowed any significant arming of Ukraine. Approval was given for the sale of some 50 cal sniper rifles that Ukraine could have bought from many other sources. The rifles are insignificant to strategic Russian activity.

You have to find a way to make his words more impactful so the messege could reach more people. Perhaps by sighting more scientific, government records and not just dwell on the doomsday clock which sounds like a silly concept at face value. And since it has obviously been wrong in the past then maybe it's not credible. This is just my ignorance speaking but I would like to be better informed.
