I loved that at the end Prof. Sancar shook Prof. Campbell's hand and picked up the paper in front of him which -i think- the worm poem was written on. I imagine Sancar takes the poem home and still reads it from time to time :)

So glad to see Angus' interviewed. Our landmark paper on poverty (one of his brainchild) launched us into scientific research. Today, we're so proud to have started that journey. Congratulations to him once again - well deserved honour!

I find it very curious that so many comments on these Nobel round table discussions are about the moderator being annoying (who does this woman think she is? The woman is annoying. Why is that woman interrupting these great geniuses? etc etc) when it seems to me that the laureates themselves have no problem with her behaving like a, you know, actual moderator with a, you know, actual job to do. It's almost as if the people receiving the Nobel prizes are fundamentally less rigid, less presuming and more accepting of 'that woman' than the average KZbin commentator. Shocking thought, I know.

People like to be polite in conversation. I highly doubt that one of them would openly criticize her on that stage.
@aemontarg69343 жыл бұрын
@@yulonglian2137 it’s obvious the moderator is pushing a narrative, I.e compassion and journalism and politics, which generally have very little to do with their line of work.

I understand that the lady needs to moderate the conversation but i really dislike her style, she speaks for the people, she interrupts and makes the conversation less fluid...which makes it harder to follow. Change the moderator!

Yeah everyone does. There are complaints under the video for every year she does this. 30:10 was cringe-inducing. The guy was answering her question and she spoke over him to someone else with some gag about sausages.

Nobel Laureates in Peace, Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, and Economic Sciences talk about the theories, discoveries and research behind their awards, and the value of science. Why can't they start awarding for energy works as well, this will shift focus towards Renewable energy. Thereby, improving state of climate change and carbon emission. @/renewableenergy @/climatechange @/albarioengineering @/hydrogen @/photovoltaics @/sustainability

Why is literature a nobel prize?
@davidandrade14024 жыл бұрын
It all goes back to the society in which the prizes were created and how a strong influence literature was back then. Now, in the modern world it may seem that it is not that of a big thing, but fiction books do have an impact in societies around the world. It isn't as easy to watch as years ago but arts and politics are heavily affected by literature.

@fuffo fuffino You need to go back to school since the definition of *literature* is written works, especially those considered of superior or lasting artistic merit. Essentially, literature is all written works that exists among humans, you nitwit. Rather than your assumption that literature was synonymous with the English language.
