I want to knit a throw blanket using 4 ply redheart yarn how many would i cast on stitches and what size needles and cord ? when i count the ridges 2 eqaul one ..if that how i count it ...or by 2 ...if i done 5 rows ..that 10 right ......newbie knitter and very slow learner .....and i slip thr first stitch purl wise hpw about the last stich do u do that purl wise 2

I like the tip on slipping the first stitch. I'll have to try that. So you don't slip the last stitch in the row, correct?

No. Just the first is how I've always done it also.

Hi Darcy, Vickie is right! If you were to slip the first and last stitches, the ends would never get knitted. Only slip the first stitch of the row. 😀

I like learning how to read my knitting 😁 In a wrap I knit early on I accidently changed colors improperly and you could see the error I was heartbroken I saw this creation in my head but my hands were inexperienced I was frustrated so frustrated I wanted perfection LIve and learn Thank you Nancy😊

I’m trying to learn if I could modify this to knit using less skeins of a larger yarn and larger needles? So I have 3 skeins of size 6 yarn. Each skein is 111 yards. I have size US15 circular needles measuring 29 inches. I can’t figure out how to do the math to know how to make this work lol

How long should the tail be for the long tail cast on for 96 stitches?

Hi Loreen, that's a great question. As a general rule I usually make my long tail about 3x the length of the completed width. This blanket is approx. 24" wide so I'll make my long tail approx. 75" long. 😀
