Hi Dillon, Champion chat as ever! Great to hear you name checking Anne Briggs. She was an early inspiration to the Sixties folk revival here in the UK. She had plenty of friends who are well worth checking out such as Johnny Moynihan and Bert Jansch. While we're at it, you might give NIc Jones a listen, especially his album 'Penguin Eggs.'

As a record dealer myself, watching your videos makes me feel better about my own collecting habits. I struggle with what to keep/sell at times. Especially when I buy a sweet collection where I want to keep all the cool stuff that I’m supposed to be making money on. But I guess that’s the perk of this business.

It is a perk. I always am selling things I want to keep, and always still feel like I keep too much, but I also sell out if my collection all the time. I think it’s important to feed that craving to keep yourself passionate about it.

Around 1978 or 79, I bought Funhouse. Found it in the import section in the Discomat store in Grand Central Station in New York. It was out of print in the US and only available as a UK import. Never any of it heard it before that, but heard that it was supposed to be good and I took a chance. It completely changed the direction my music listening went into. Before that I was listening to typical 70's teen age stuff, like Led Zeppelin & Pink Floyd, and liked it, but it didn't really do anything for me, but with Funhouse and the Clash's first album, those changed everything and I never went back to my old taste. It didn't take more than 5 seconds into "Down In The Streets" and I knew I found my sound, LOL. The Clash I also bought at that Discomat, which was a damned good record store. It was also import only, because that record wasn't released in the US for a long time. It was in the import bin for only $3.99, which was cheap for an import, (Funhouse was $5.99, which was a ton of money for me in 1978) and it didn't even have shrink wrap. I know you like Led Zep, but for me there was no going back to them after hearing Funhouse and the Clash.

I know this is gonna sound corny but I found Two of my Holy Grail's not too long ago (one on eBay and the other from this site from Germany, I'm actually still waiting on that one to get here in the mail). They're both the 7 inch 45's, one's by Jack Rainwater - White Sox Blues #2 and the other is A.C. & The Kentucky Fox Band Play With Fire/Music Man. The reason why I list those is because my dad played guitar on those records and sadly he just passed away back in January from pancreatic cancer, so I'm on a mission to get the other singles of The Kentucky Fox Band stuff. I joined discogs a few months too late cause they actually had one on there back in October. These might take me years before I see them, I guess these are my Might Baby!
