They were newer players, and they were doing their best, honestly props to bactria for not ragequiting and trying to win till the very end. If not for his pikes we would've won it a lot more easily.

Yeah ironfist had lots of fun, while playing this and so did all the defenders. And about those pikes at the end, if you rewatch the ending you might see that I was charging my general into the side of those pikes whenever they came to set up making it really difficult for bactria to do anything. And also it didn't really matter all that much as we had a fresh unit of pikes ourselves and they had no way to deal with them.

Kush cheated in the beginning Apollo does not really show it very well but you can see kush push there cav threw and pretty much kill a whole army

So I've seen many people in the comments getting more or less mad about how we played in the late game. Because of that I decided to write what was generally going through our heads at that time. When we retreated to the town center we were panicking. We knew Kush had full ammo on their archers and bactria had 2 units of pikes. We soon calmed down and realize we can still win this. But there was just one thing that needed to happen. Kush had to either run out of ammo or he had to lose his archers. That's why I've sent the rekem palace guard unit to try and flank kush and hopefully take out his archers. But the most important thing was to buy ourselves as much time as possible, while Kush uses up his ammo on our sword and spear units, so that he won't be able to murder our pikeman. That' why we were senging a single unit at a time, to just give us time while kush uses up his ammo, I've kept my pikes hidden so that his archers couldn't target them. I've sent one of those units at oone point, becouse I've felt like otherwise we would cruble and lose to bactrian pikes. As soon as kush ran out of ammo on his archers I instantly sent my pikes in to fight as I knew we can now win. At the same time I've been using my general to charge the flank of bactrian pikes every time they try to set up to make it a lot harder for them to do anything and not just die.

In fairness to u everyone has a bad game and this was one of the most unlikely 50/50 comebacks I've ever seen. And to me it's not that anyone else in the game was bad it's just Kush was that much better than everyone else during that game including the defenders that he just looks like he's carrying everyone like an absolute unit as he beats the defenders with a shitty stick.

Charge a shotel warriors with units from good armor, like the hoplites, is a madness. The shotel units are very strong attacking elite enemy units, but the best way to combat this, are used archers and other projectiles soldiers; Also units with less armor, but good attack (barbarian units). In the case of this defenders, they don't have that options and in the end for almost lost the battle for this. Carthage save the day in the last minutes of the battle, but with a great cost. XD

10 minutes in when you are talking about that faction that has that one unit, you know the one! The one that holds lines the entire fight. They don’t necessarily win fights, but like you said horihorse that you can rely on heavily to hold the line on flanks. I don’t know if you’ve played/seen the Rise of Mordor mod, but after playing in a 4v4 tournament, I realized that the Woodland Spearman, are just that. Those guys in pike formation are the shining star to hold anything. I even have a video recorded on my twitch of it!

I’m actually pretty fine with cav pushing through swordsmen. Mainly because, if you were a dude armed with only a sword and shield would you get out of the way of a horse barreling past you? Unless you’re just built different I would say yes

I talked with the kush player in DMs after the battle, and it was an accidental pushthrough, and honestly it made for a much more interesting battle, as I would've kept my archers otherwise and it would have been an easy win.
