I certainly hope so. Even if the race remains tight, I strongly believe that a presidential campaign is served by going outside your assigned red/blue states and the seven "swing states." 1. You get ten times the publicity when you go into an "enemy territory" state. Look at when Trump went into the Bronx and New Jersey. He got tons of press. He lied about the crowd sizes, but there was still tons of free coverage of the crowds that were there. 2. You tell your people there that you haven't forgotten about them. Think of Kansas. Obviously a Red State, but there are millions and millions of Democrats in that state anyways. They would love to see their candidate face to face. The Democrats sell merch, hand out bumper stickers and so on. Will Harris flip Kansas? No. But that's not the point. It will create a lot more impact than going to Pennsylvania for the 50th time. 3. Florida just had a poll that showed Donald only 2 points ahead! Everyone knows, if Kamala flips Florida, it's over. Will she? Probably not. But nobody was expecting Biden to flip Georgia either. Now Georgia considered a swing state and Florida isn't. State by state polling is horrendously bad. Nobody knows if Florida polling won't be off by more than the margin, ESPECIALLY since it has that abortion measure on the ballot. 4. Finally, it forces the opposition to put money into that state as well. Since Kamala has more money, if she puts enough into Florida or Texas into play, there is going to be panic in the GOP. They don't have enough to cover it. Donald Trump would have to leave Mar-a-Lago to go knocking on doors. Would it make the news? Yes. Will it make a difference? Probably not, except for the fact that you will stretch the Republican's coffers to the breaking point. They are putting everything into Pennsylvania (and about half of that into GA). They cannot afford to campaign in Texas or Florida.

It's not as big of a problem as you've been led to believe. Trump and his Republican surrogates stopped bipartisan legislation that would strengthen the border because they needed a crisis to run against Biden on. Biden had to take executive action and crossings have decreased significantly. That legislation is still needed. When Harris is elected, Democrats will take majority in the House of representatives. They will pass the bill and she will sign it.

Meet the press seems to have a more balanced coverage compared to, say, MSNBC. On the debate, clearly no one was going to be swayed or have an epiphany with respect to Trump. Clearly, it's not his (lack) of policies or his integrity that they care about. Otherwise, he would have never gone past the primaries.

I was behind Biden until that first debate. His performance in that made me rethink his fitness to serve another four years, as it clearly did many other Democrats. Trump being unable to control himself for even a couple minutes without going into an insane rant over a few taunts is not the Trump of 2016 - like Biden he's also gotten older and the mind isn't working like it used to, and it's not going to get better when he's 80, 81, 82. I disagree with his policies and his rhetoric, but the guy I saw up there last night was confused and incoherent, and that's not something anyone should want in a leader.
