To be honest. If you produce at cost and remove the logo, the luxury market really isn't that expensive. The mark is about 80% of the actual price. But the fact that you are *jklux* buying an image and showing off your taste to make them think you are richer than you are is a very good thing to do。

I totally agree with this. I purchased the first edition of Capucines when it was released. I really love my bag however, over time the handle started to melt, until I had to bring my bag back to LV for replacement. They agreed to replace it. I didn't realize that the new bag was so thin and prone to mishaps compared to the previous one. I regret replacing it, since I could have just placed a scarf around the handle to cover the problem.

As a doctor, i feel that my money is so hard-earned. Hours of being away from loved ones, missing important holidays and family events for years and years, poor health from stress and insane working hours, working in a highly litiginous line of work, absolutely zero work-life balance and premature ageing from chronic lack of sleep, I will never buy designer items at the absurd prices they are offering. Every cent earned is a testament to the blood, sweat and tears I have to go through each and every day at work. Not letting myself get fooled by this 'engineered luxury' in this day and age of conspicuous consumption. My money is better spent being debt-free, being able to buy nutritous food for my family, making sure there is a roof over our heads and money for other essentials like health care, education, holidays and for unexpected rainy days.

We often see having money as freedom and people often associate the symbols of having money with freedom. So the idea of freedom becomes commodified in the nice car, or the big house, or flashy jewelry. When really what people desire is the boot off poverty off their neck. Sometimes people realize it and move away from luxury, sometimes they get lost in the commodities.

I agree with other posts on here, quality and over production. Decades ago, in the 80s you didn't see Chanel bags all over the place and I know that was before social media. These days it seems everybody and their brother and sister own a lux bag and then ...is it really lux anymore if its common? I also believe a lot of the bags are mass produced in China, my opinion. It may explain the quality coming from a factory that isn't monitored the way it was, less than materials and hardware. I believe the bag is finished in Italy and the label is made in Italy thus allowing the bag to be labeled as Made in Italy. It may also explain why the fakes are so darn well made, some people think it makes more sense to own one of those.

Absolutely enjoyed this video of yours. I agree with you saying that social media changed how people shop, because it really did, expecially with finding dupes of a luxury item for a fraction of the price. Also luxury brand will have to shift if they want to survive, it's been shown time and time again with iconic brands shutting down that it's their job to evolve

Luxery isn’t even luxury anymore. It’s just a logo slapped on. If I buy luxury I expect luxury materials and top tier craftsmanship. Even “luxury” cars are getting lapped by high trim economy cars. This is very apparent with clothing, giant logos slapped onto regular T shirts and sold at a premium, I don’t even look at the brand anymore, I look at the materials and the craftsmanship and then determine if it’s worth buying for the price they are asking.

I saw this KZbin video on wealthy Mexicans in Mexico, and this dentist (woman) came out of the Louis Vuitton store..... And was asked how much were the shoes that she just bought..... $1000+ USD. I was like, WOW. It doesn't matter how wealthy you are, how much money you make... They are still shoes at the end of the day, and they sell the exact same shoes made in Italy with the same quality, but without a brand for like $100+ dollars... I was like like, this woman just paid $900+ dollars for the LV logo on ger high heels.

Luxury companies died when they diluted their brand and made it accessible to the middle class who can charge it to a credit card. Affordable luxury is not luxury. Some LV products are now manufactured in some small-town factory in Texas! WTF? No thank you . Also, I work at a private jet company where I see millionaires in and out everyday. One thing I notice is that they never wear any luxury logo clothing or bags. They look ordinary but their clothes have quality. Real rich people don't need to show off - just us middle class, rich wanna-be have the need to buy "affordable luxury" to feel better about ourselves.
@Taylor987-h8j
@Taylor987-h8j Ай бұрын
The real question is what about society makes the some of the middle class behave this way? Could it be the millions spent on marketing and advertising to condition them to feel like they need it? It’s not about wanting to look like a plain Jane rich person, most of who don’t know how to dress. The reality is, it’s a capitalist society that squeezes money from the middle and lower classes on purpose

I recently visited Neiman Marcus (Lennox Mall Atlanta). Bought a particular item in the mens department that was VERY EXPENSIVE💰. After leaving my stomache hurt. Why? Because I knew I didn't need it. Yes, I could afford it but I knew it would be only worn once or twice. So I returned it the next day to a different mall in a different state.😆 The pressure was lifted off my chest. Buying that item at that price bothered me as I sat on the plane going home, but now I'm mentally relieved😄. At the end of the day it ain't worth it.💵💸

I still never understood the draw to that particular label. Most of their bags are canvas, ok fine, but the price reflects otherwise. They have their LV all over the place to make sure the whole world knows what it is. I feel like they should give me the bag for free as its nothing but a billboard for them. Just my opinion, I hate it when labels are splashed all over. I should know a quality bag without having any labels on it.

The quality of luxury handbags has significantly declined compared to a generation ago, while prices have skyrocketed to astronomical levels. Many KZbin content creators have uncovered the stark contrast between the actual cost of production and the retail price. Furthermore, the emergence of 'super replicas'-so expertly crafted that even experts find it difficult to distinguish them from the originals-makes purchasing overpriced, supposedly 'authentic' items increasingly redundant.

As a person who is studying industrial design and have a humble understanding of consumer psyche ( being a consumer myself and having worked with some ) and understanding the ins and outs of designing. Manufacturing. And and brief understanding of the market. I see where both partiest lie. However, the "luxury brands" arent putting a good front or maintaining whats rest of it. + being a produce corp you need to have and feel responsibility regarding the environment ( and by which not only planet earth but also all living beings and such ) and yes some might say. Would you actually care if you were making all that money ? The answare is yes! Yes i would. And lets suppose i didnt "care" about planet earth. I would "care" about my reputation in the market. Maintaining my front is everthing ! Absolutely everything ! If i didnt care about human labour. I would care about what people would think of me in case i got involved in such scandal ! If i didnt care about the carbon foot print of my manufacturers or factories i would care what people would say knowing im producing recklessly ! And it goes on and on. Especially with the fact that there is a huge economy hit effecting billions of people. Companies and even countries !. The fact that human health is significantlly deteriorating ! Due to horrible working conditions ( manufactures and such ) I could sit and talk for hours about the horrifics of this matter. But im decently sure the message has been delivered. And by all means i stand with the consumers ! Ps. Who made the infamous line ( customer is always right ) ?? Where did that go?
