Nobody Respects Max Verstappen

Over the years, one thing has become very apparent: The biggest problem Verstappen has is his nationality. If he was British, media channels and fans would be propping him up as if he was Christ reborn. Instead, what we see now is media going on the "Max is a villain" path. And people want to believe that story because he has the wrong nationality. It has nothing to do with his dominance but with how he is portrayed: Most pictures of him show him looking stern (in contrast Hamiltons pictures show him smiling all the time). Most footage is framed in such a way that it can be interpreted in a bad way, and footage that cannot be manipulated is craftfully suppressed and not shown as much. Only when hé rants on the radio, the messages are distributed while the rants of other drivers don't get that attention. When there is an incident, it is treated as if he killed the British royal family and everyone goes berserk, Sky sports the most of all. When he is performing a remarkable feat, it is downplayed constantly ("it's the car", 'it's for wikipedia") while British drivers are propped up when they do something nice. When any team struggles, it is no big deal. When Redbull does it, they must have been caught cheating somehow. This is not about fans being tired of dominance, this is a deliberate plot by media channels to create division for revenue. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy: if you put a mega lens on an ant, it will indeed look very big. People want to hate and will believe anything that confirms that.

@@Euddvmdi He's right though, Hamilton had a very long streak of taking out other cars with his FL tire, max verstappen and alex albon included, but no one bats an eye, but all of the LH fans say he's a fraud because of 2021 and even say he's a fraud now because hes no longer in the fastest car. I'm american and i respect his hard work all the way. Max is a HARD Racer, there's a huge difference between that and racing dangerously.

It's basically the British 'press', if you want to call it that, and its extreme toxicity. Unfortunately, a lot of otherwise well meaning fans are swayed by their reporting. It's a pity really, but par for the course for the intellectual level of a once great nation. They've had a long tradition of horrendous press, but apart from that, also a selection of excellent journalism. The latter is part of the past though.

If we all remember the same thing happened during the time when Vettel was dominating the sport for 4 years (he also got booed at a few times). And when he went to drive for Ferrari he became one of the most loved drivers on the grid. Though I personally don't like Verstappen because he has that arrogant cocky vibe around him. I'm not sur Max a real talent anyway (not with 3 titles just not yet) would have ever beaten these guys... And you know what...? Save some money test drive an F3 or even Formula Ford or Formula Renault on a real track...
