For anyone who wasnt around during Alonso's prime, lets put it in context: he was immediately fast, immediately great, but probably tge 4th fastest driver on the grid. Schumacher, Raikkonen and Montoya were all considered quicker. Alonso did not look much better than his teammate Trulli an 04 (Trulli won at Monaco) and in 05 Kimi was the real star.

What can be stated though is each one shares the same attributes of wanting to win, demanding everything from the team and themselves and being fiercely competitive. That's what makes them equal, but to say Max is better than Fangio or Senna was better than Max on the track is almost absurd.....could either Senna or Max drive [and win] what Fangio drove? I think one of the reasons people like to diminish current Lance Stroll: he showed potential, but then the mistakes, man, the silly mistakes! It's getting worse and worse. Once in a blue moon, he'll drive like his life depends on it, but most of the time, he just acts like he doesn't want to be there. He's taking the seat of a promising young talent (Drugovitch) just because daddy owns the team. He should just go do rich people stuff like hanging on a yacht, playing polo, whatever... when you don't want to be there, just leave. Congrats, you've achieved what so few people have done.
