I worked for nintendo for a city event and they had me on hey pikman, splatoon 2, 1 2 switch and Botw Demo. I loved showing people how to get the stuff on hey pikmin. But my favorite was playing samon run with the guests! So much fun.

Hey pikmin feels like one of those "ports" of a 3D game from a beefier console to a handheld, converting it into 2D in the process and not really being a port. So from that perspective, it's a handheld game on a handheld console. The 3DS was the last handheld from Nintendo leading up to the release of the Switch. A new concept that is both a next gen mainline console but can be used as a handheld. It's hard for us to sometimes remember that electronics are rapidly evolving with technical achievements surpassing each other on sometimes a yearly basis. They wanted a little handheld pikmin platformer so that's what they made. I think it would be remembered more fondly if it went all in on the 2D aesthetic rather than using the janky 3D models in 3DS games that always made me motion sick.

The thing that nobody understands is the fact that it is a SPIN OFF. You don’t play Mario tennis if you are looking for a traditional Mario game. Same thing with this!

Pikmin Bloom is actually not bad. It’s pretty addictive once you get into the loop and unlock all of the gameplay features. It definitely starts slow when you can’t attack mushrooms for example.

Its a shame the gameplay was so mid, since there were actually quite a few really cool ideas I wish they would bring over to the main series... Because lets be honest, if those baby Breadbugs were in the main game (and didn't insta-kill Pikmin) they would probably be a fan favorite.

They had something in pinkmin 1 that does this but they don’t look like little bread loaves. Pikmin 4 has giant ones in it, they’re passive really, it’s just a game of tug of war with them.

As highlighted by some other people, the editing, the way you presented your views, the way you presented the jokes, the thumbnail itself, the joke by which you end the video, possibly implying a future video on Yoshi's New Island, and so on were all very well thought and presented, and worthy of much more attention and subscribers! Really enjoyed the video, and on another note, totally in agreement with how I feel about the game. Everything feels very mid and there's a lack of ambition and innovation. Being in 2D when the whole series has been in 3D does not imply innovation, in fact, it took from the innovation of the whole series. The best part is the charm of the pikmin, although it gets repetitive and highlights how sluggish the game feels.

I think you video sums up hey pikmin pretty well. But i seriously dont get why people hate it so much, its a fine game, maybe a bit too easy for my taste, but thats okay. Nintendo thrives in inventing new stuff, using their old IPs and mush them together with another genre to sometimes create the best games ever made. I mean, without this experimenting we never would've got Mario Party, Smash Bros. or Mario Kart, just to name a few. They are also known for taking someones ideas and give them some support with their own IPs and since Nintendo worked with Arzest before i am sure they looked into what they were developing at that time. If they made a puzzle platformer at that time where you throw stuff to retrieve something, i am pretty sure they just said: "Hey, that kinda sounds like Pikmin. Here, take our IP to make your game more popular." And yeah, sure, Hey! Pikmin is not like a Main Pikmin title... because its a Spin-off. If every spin-off had to face this argument, then why is world of warcraft a good game for some people, it plays totally different than Warcraft. So imo, Hey! Pikmin is a cute little puzzle platformer with a pikmin theme. But yeah, the little videos are cute, but appear too often.

I’ve played this game when I was very very young and had no idea what other Pikmin games were like and never heard of Pikmin ever and I liked it the first time, Now in 2023 I play the Pikmin 1 Switch Editon and currently playing Pikmin 2 Switch Editon and yeah they’re way better than this game but doesn’t mean this game is bad also let’s all be honest, a Pikmin game on the DS would have NEVER worked at all it’s 3D action could not fit with the tiny DS screen and would be so terrible so this game isn’t at all like Pikmin in any sense but being what it was was still good and alright as it’s thing So the game isn’t completely bad, is it top tier amazing? No but it’s not terrible either *and dear god the A.I is way better than 1*

I honestly wouldn’t have minded playing this while waiting for newer games to release. I loved flash games (mostly sonic) on the computer and it’s entertaining enough. The fact that I didn’t know this existed but grew up with pikmin 1 and 2 on GameCube and later had a 3DS days everything. I do play pikmin bloom but every other day, it’s not engaging enough to want to do every time I walk or everyday. It’s kinda meh

What it ends up being is a reskinned kirby mass attack. Don't get me wrong, i liked hey pikmin. It's charming and has a lot of personality, but it lacks most aspects that make pikmin what it is.
