I was surprised to learn lenders were not interested in underwriting a loan, despite me putting 33% down. Ended up getting 7.14% for 72 months (paid off early). That was the very best rate I could get, despite good credit and indicating my preference for very short duration. Insurance premiums almost as much as an Audi twice the price. FWIW, for as well as the car fits my needs, I'd never recommend an EV to someone as an only car. Based on my ownership experience, PHEVs are the path forward... offering owners the flexibility of very inexpensive electric-only commuting in town, and the assurance of being able to quickly refuel at gas stations on longer trips.

You can score a model 3 for less what a Civic or Corolla leases for. Leasing is not for anyone, but if it's for you EVs are really enticing. Right now you have few to choose from: Kia EV9, the expensive and quirky Tesla Model X… I think part of the reason why EV sales are down is because this is an underserved segment. Lucky Once again you’ve proven that negativity is what sells not being fair and balanced. Here’s the reality of the situation our electric cards for everybody know our internal combustion engines, more efficient, and more reliable than they’ve ever been in the past. However, that being said there is a case that for a lot of people, Evie’s makes sense as they are generally less maintenance the people that shred through tires those people are going to shred through tires on an ice car or an electric vehicle it’s all in how you drive. If you’re living in a area that has a lot of chargers or do you have an access to home charging then it might work out for you in some cases insurance actually goes down. I’m a 43 year-old male male who currently has a Honda who is transitioning to a Volkswagen ID4 and my insurance is actually going to go down same if I got a Volvo electric car my insurance would go down. It really is dependent on your situation if you live in a rural area or don’t have access to easy charging, then no electric cars are probably not for you at least not right now however, there’s going to become a time when oil is simply not going to be available, but what happen in our lifetime probably not But we have to get out in front on our next technology. Otherwise, if we continue to live in the past and never innovated, we would still have the horse and carriage as our main form of transportation. Obviously electric vehicles are not in your wheelhouse and that’s fine but to make a blank statement that nobody wants EV’s is just a fallacy they are selling and like anything else there’s always going to be ebs and flows. Reality is the consumer needs to do what’s best for them in their situation. Do your research test drive both types of cars and whatever you think fits for you and after you crunch your numbers, what you feel is best for your pocketbook go for it don’t worry about everybody else and do what you think is best for you control what you can control.

MG is having a fire sale on MG4 EVs in Australia, with an instant 25% off on the base model. 25! People who already have these must be absolutely furious. Resale values are cratering.

NEWS: EVs accounted for 8.9% of total auto sales in the U.S. in Q3-the highest ever on record-marking an increase from 7.8% during the same period last year, according to Cox Automotive data.

EV for me? A one ton, dually, crew cab, 4x4, hybrid (totally electric drive train) with a small gas V8 (motor/generator set), 110 and 220V electrical outlets. Oh yes, a choice of colors inside and out thank you!

Fossil fuel subsidies in the US average around $1 trillion dollars per year according to the International Energy Agency. These subsidies have been going on for decades and people are complaining over a decade of subsidies for EVs…🤔.

I'd be wiling to buy one, they're just out of my price range new, and I'm afraid to get a used one. What if the battery dies?
@l0k3 ай бұрын
I believe regulation is 8 years of manufacturer warranty on the battery. We have a 2018 BMW i3 with a bit over 80k miles and there's no big difference from day 1.
@stephkent27363 ай бұрын
What if the motor dies in your Honda? I mean, the battery warranty is good for 100k and you can see what the degradation is like with the onboard software. In many ways, the “maintenance” done in the battery and life left is a lot more visible in an EV that a random 10 year old used car.
@Gonzo_Bubb3 ай бұрын
@@stephkent2736 You have a point, it could happen. I buy my vehicles with 100k on them already, usually. and I choose cars with engines that are known for being reliable.
@stephkent27363 ай бұрын
@@Gonzo_Bubb and when it comes to reliability it’s going to be (A) whose motors last 200-300K (B) will people keep around a city car with 85% range for errands and similar and (C) what will happen to any car after it goes EOL (end of life) from its vendor? VW says it will support Android auto for the life of vehicle (15 years). What is going to happen at that point with 2022-2023 vehicles with AA in the vehicle, and what will the market be for any car that is effectively and iPhone 7 waiting to get compromised like a Windows XP machine today? People laugh about the “time bomb” of EV batteries. I’m FAR more worried about Android Auto and its long term ramifications.

Hey, I have a question real quick. Is Turbo pass safe to input your data for income verification for a small dealership? I just wanna know if anyone else’s experience. I look up anything about them on KZbin and KZbin only spits out videos by Turbo pass and there is no comments because they are flagged as kids videos so that automatically lights up a red flag on me.

Your videos focus only on the US, but the auto industry is global. China is the world's largest auto market and 50% of new car sales there are now EV's or plug-in hybrids (up from 6% in 2020). China is also the world's largest car exporter, and more affordable Chinese-made EV's are now showing up in many places around the world. The US government currently uses prohibitive tariffs to prevent Americans from being able to buy them, but it's only a matter of time until that changes.

The ultimate price of EVs is almost a non-issue. Even free they still have the same issues. Takes more than just a few minutes to charge. Doesn't go as far as an ICE until between "fill ups". You never really know when you'll get that bolt, rock, or other object into the battery case at just the right angle and the clock starts ticking on the battery. Fix any or all of these issues and the value of all existing EVs drops to nothing. And even then, the grid doesn't have enough juice to cover a full EV transition.
