A lady called me to see if I could mow a church that had been destroyed in a fire. The lawn and the edges were pretty overgrown, but we got it back in shape.

This is the second gardening video I’ve watched where a church has burned down, the other video on the Quick Cuts channel. My only thought was candles being lit and left maybe but I’m wondering with sadness if it’s arson? It’s not my faith but I don’t like to think of anyone’s sacred space being attacked. Everyone should have a place to believe and focus safely, very sad. 😔

I love what a beautiful job you do! Watched a new UTber “clean up” an older couple’s yard. He needs to watch your vids. He stops his video regularly to say “it’s really hot out here,” I wish I never started this,” it’s not great, but it’s better than it was.” He did not rake up or mow over the grass/weeds knocked down with the weedwacker. He did no edging. He didn’t finish the job. He obviously just wants a UT channel with a lot of subs and lots of comments and shares. If he finds a good work ethic, maybe I’ll watch him again someday. When I read your title, I automatically thought it would be a church with an adjoining cemetery. I pictured you guys having to go around hundreds of gravestones. Great job! Seeing all that great land and shell of a building screams community garden and learning center. Sitting there right by a playground would be awesome for kids to learn about gardening, maybe some chickens while addressing the struggles so many face with food insecurities. Shooo-Weeee! That was a TON of edging!!!! You two always kill the edging jobs. Love the results! I was surprised by the condition of the building. Didn't look like it had any fire damage. Walls still looked nice and white with no soot. Maybe they did a good cleanup job after the fire. Hopefully they can get a new roof soon so their congregation can worship again. I was going to ask the same question. We have volunteers who love to cut the grass and look after the flowers, plants and shrubs. Everyone takes turns and usually four at a time working on cutting, edging and trimming.

I used to go to a church where they had to build a new church because of a fire. Thankfully, they were able to raise enough money to rebuild. Sometimes old wiring can heat up because of a reaction between the aluminun and copper/brass touching each other and over the years there's a potential for a fire due to the heat that's generated from that reaction.

At first glance I didn't think it was THAT overgrown until you started to mow it. It surely needed it. Sorry to hear about the fire at the church but after your landscape makeover, removing those trees, mowing the lawn and your secret sauce of that edging, making the property and the neighborhood look 100% better.
