Noctua NH-C14S | Epic Top Down Cooling

I got one of these for an mATX case that could not fit the NH-U15, this one barely fit the case, but is doing a phenomenal job at cooling an i5 13500, keeping it under 60 Celsius even in full load. I must admit that it is almost as big as the U15, but much shorter, which is why I'd recommend this for folks who want air cooling rather than AIO. Amazing quality and build.

im getting very good results from this cooler in an Ncase M1 cooling a 5800x3d. Low profile under mount downflow installation, -30 CO across all cores using PBO2 Tuner, i am peaking about 84c on this relatively hot Ryzen CPU.

Great detailed review, very helpful for me, thanks How you think this cooler will be enough for new generation ryzen 7 5800x? It also 8-core and I think in stock it matches the overclocked version of your R7 1700. But all reviews say that it is really very hot( NH-C14S is the most productive one that will fit into the case I need (Thermaltake Core V1) top towers D14 / D15 do not match height. Or will have to choose a more capacious case for top dual fan towers?

Thank you! Indeed they are really hot. I don't have the 5800x to fully answer you but I would say the C14S should cope since it has the heatsink and fan to handle it, even if at a higher rpm. As a back up, try to do a manual voltage lock OC that I did in my Dan A4 itx case where I could tame a 3700x and 5600x with bearly a 92mm AIO. I managed 1.075v for 4 GHz on all cores and the same for the 5600x but at 1.1v and replicated stock performance but with a win in temperatures by 15-20 degrees. Check my A4 playlist please 👍 Hope this helps.

Hey man, awesome review. Wanted to ask as 5900x and 5800x both share the same TDP, so this should be totally fine with a 5900x with an undervolt right? Any inputs or would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Thank you as well for the feedback! In stock form the 5900x is hotter than the 5800x. But with an undervolt you should be able to tame it. That tdp is not respected when it decides to boost like mad for a few seconds (for stock). I have seen this happening with both my 3700x and 5600x.

@@Glob3Tech I’ll be using in Ncase M1. So I am thinking so 1 slim NFA12 on the sides as intake. 2 bottom NFA12 slim as intakes from the bottom. And running the psu in atx format so I can run a NFA9 as a rear intake. And running the C14s with 140mm that it comes with. I think this should put me in a really good spot. Managing the fan curve should keep the system not super Loud.
