I laughed way too hard at that. John Petrucci. A genius musician, very articulate and all, but he can be a dork sometimes, LMAO! Love JP!

It's so funny they talked about it - I literally discovered DT because I'd read on the MoP Wikipedia page that they'd covered MoP in its entirety. I thought "that must be some band to do that!"

I saw Dream Theater open for Zebra at Sundance in Bayshore, NY (Long Island) in 1988. I also saw DT open for Iron Maiden at the Ritz in NYC on 6/8/92 ! It was the world premiere of the Fear of the Dark tour for IM (video on youtube). \m/

Hey Robb, sorry If Im late with this conversation, Im a huge DT fan and a MH fan, so this is great, I love the way you talk about trying to go to the gym after a hangover, and I can relate to that, from my point of view we see you as a superhumans , so its amazing, that you guys are so honest about that issue, it happens to me eveytime, so thanks Robb, Thanks for the the great show in Barcelona last time. ❤ and I watched the whole DT Master of Puppets show by Dream Theater in Barcelona back in 2007 or something, it was like craaaaaaaazy, love you Robb, you are the best, great questions. You are by far the best of the best.

The weightlifting talk is always fun. Especially as a guitar player. I think the last time I met JP was when he just achieved a 315 squat for the first time / was gonna go meet Ronnie Coleman while he was on tour haha. Think that's where my picture is from in the profile picture. Random off comment but - A big thing with the wrists is just making sure you don't bend them regardless of what exercise you're doing. Curl? Flat wrist. Bench press? Flat wrist. Close grip bench? Keep the hands next to the ribs, and not on top of the body. Little things like that.

This was a fun interview. I loved that Robb was trying to get some dirt on DT hoping they got wild back stage, but John and the boys are just full on music nerds through and through...haha.

Robb - how about a podcast interview with Avenged Sevenfold already? Bury that stupid hatchet from the past man, which in all honesty was mostly you being a bit childish - life is too short for such trivial disagreements. Love both Machinehead and Avenged Sevenfold. Do it and surprise us. Love your show 🤘🏻
