This might sound odd, but thank you for going over this campaign almost completely RAW. So many other KZbinrs tend to skip right to how to change things, which is certainly helpful, but I’m glad I can watch these videos and be reminded what this module is supposed to look like

First time I ran it, I made quite a few mistakes, and my players had a quite a few amazing rolls, and they managed to kill Strahd six sessions in. They STILL talk about how much they loved that campaign and how much fun those six sessions were. That’s the power of this module. Even if you completely screw it up, it’s still amazing and memorable. Currently preparing to run it again, with a beefed up statblock for Strahd and making him much more keen to watch the party fight his minions instead of throwing down with them personally. Can’t wait.

You think your campaign went off the rails try having a party of murder hobos who managed to beat Strahd at level 3 AFTER blowing up Castle Ravenloft! We are still talking about that incident a year and a half later.

@@denisselara9324 At the time, the party consisted of a half elf cleric noblewoman (me), a dragonborn fighter with PTSD and a human drunk sailor (also a fighter). I was against this plan because I did not think it wise to piss off Strahd as we were level 3. The two fighters vetoed me and went ahead with getting a carriage, a getaway driver and a few weapons including bows and arrows. Unfortunately the DM would not allow me to stay behind while they did this. Basically we took our carriage up to Castle Ravenloft and did a drive by shooting with flaming arrows. The fighters lit the arrow on fire and shot them into the wine cellar. Alcohol is flammable so the fire spread throughout the cellar until it took out the support beams holding up the upper floors and the castle eventually collapsed. By this point there was an epic chase sequence and we barely made it out alive. Strahd later blamed me for the incident even though I had nothing to do with it.

Thank you so much for making these videos. They were huge help for me as a DM for Curse of Strahd. These videos gave me alot of fantastic ideas and finding things I first time missed by reading the book itself. I started hosting my campaign in november and it continued to may. We had a good thing going. I wish I could say that it still continues, but due to life complications and grudges between players outside the campaign. My campaign went to hiatus... with a high chance that I'll have to start over with completely new group.

With the community supplements and personalized home-brewing for the PCs, by far the best. Rime of the Frostmaiden is a close second with the same outside support. I’m a big fan of both their atmosphere and intimacy. Btw, excellent job covering all of CoS, bro! Helped me immensely for my play through.

My main group finished this a couple of months ago and I found I had to tear it apart and rebuild it to get the horror/harshness of the feel it should have. I ran the original Ravenloft in 1e and it was a lot easier for the horror and harshness then with how the game was built. I found I really had to turn up the dial but it made it fun and we had a blast.

Thank you for the amazing guides and tips on this module. My players are about 3-4 sessions to reach the ending and i incorporated many of your ideas during the campaign: going to Castle Ravenloft multiple times, the barovian witches encouter as Van Richten's Tower instead of werewolves, and many others.. Do you plan to cover other modules in such detail? Descent into Avernus maybe? LMoF is also regarded as one of the best... Curious to know.

Hi! I'm watching your videos, thank you for your content :) I'm studying the manual, and studying from more creators, like you, Lunch Break Heroes, Flutes Loot, DragnaCarta, MandyMod, and many others, because i'll DM this campaign soon for my friends. You also suggest to let players visit Castel Ravenloft many times in the middle of the campaign, but I'm still wondering: how do the DM manage this? I mean, will Strahd just let the players costantly visit his own house? I know, it's full of traps and dangers, but they could also steal things, free prisoners, destroy the heart, find treasures or even the sunsword or the holy symbol. How could Strahd allow it? He has spies everywhere in the land, many servants in the castle, how can the party just explore it unnoticed or without anyone telling Strahd they're there doing things? This is one of the things i find hard to figure out, would you please enlight me with your experience? :) (sorry for my bad english)

@@NoFunAllowed Dont think theres a shambling mound in OSE though. We'd have to make a couple of custom monster builds to make it work. Luckily, most items can port over to OSE from 5e.
