This is still like peak NOFX. S&M Airlines and Ribbed era when they still wanted to be RKL. They still put out good to great stuff up until now but these are my favorite.

I was at Al´s Bar later on April 1991 in order to see NoMeansNo. I have not visited in the USA after that! Thanks a lot for the video! Oldie but goodie!

I remember seeing them around this time. Both Erics had dreads, and with Steve the hessian too!!! Steve actually showed me how to play day to daze on gitter!! I'm kinda surprised Mike wasn't playing the headless bass tho. Gawdamm this brings back memories!!

@@dennisjr77 they really did. S&M Airlines was one of the first few NOFX records i ever got, and i always liked it. it had been ages since i heard any of those songs until i watched this show. reminded me of how much i loved that record. i think i'll play it today

@@89kids hmmm, I'm almost sure it said in the book that someone like henry rollins(don't remember who it was) called him fat mike ouside of an la club afrer a gig and the reason was basically only that his face was a little round, and this happend before nofx or just when they started the band

I love the Steve era and thanks for posting this piece of history. This had to be one of last shows with Steve since Hefe joined in 91. If Steve would have stayed they would have been good but not the same Nofx we know today.

NoFx consistently puts out good stuff to this day - but this was them at their prime imo. Fast and raw AF. Great footage man. Wish I was there. Right before punk started to get so safe and the scene became a joke.

It's rad that Bad Religion members were contributors to S&M Airlines album. I used to hear the title track and think the harmony sounded like a Bad Religion song, only to find out it was Greg Graffin the whole time!

They played thrash before, moved to melodic punk after. Musically it was prob better but they sure lost some aggression

@@jovdam it was always melodic since Liberal Animation. They simply moved from melodic punk hard core to pop punk and pop punk hard core. The longest line is one of their first pop punk songs ever

Nofx saved my life. I got the nofx shorts a few years after this show. When I first got punk n drublic mom and I couldn't understand it. Green Corn best punk rock song ever made.

This was awesome. Steve kicks ass. I always thought El Hefe was on ribbed. My favourite album. Kick ass that they played that whole album live. I was hoping they would play the entire punk in drublic album for the punk in drublic show in Edmonton, free beer at a punk rock show so good.

I got a lot of respect for NOFX but I really wish I could have seen them back in these days. I’ve been to a handful of shows, two warped tours and one actual and they’re great and all but it’d be cool to see them actually play and not just bullshit constantly. I think catching them right before Punk in Drublic would have been them at their best

World Rockumentary Channel™ loved Kidwiller , he was more of a metal guy but was a great guitar player and could adapt to whatever. I think he played a few reunion shows in 2009/2010. Hefe is a better all around musician obviously. I don’t know about you but the drums on Ribbed are especially great, all of eriks playing is great but Ribbed really was impressive in terms of technicality and dynamics. Thank you for posting this and talking about your personal ties to the history of NOFX.

Clearly the crowd doesn't understand the sound cause the band was very ahead of its time, but thats ok it would be so nice to be there, great record quality.

Mike was like 15/16 when they started in ‘83....... so, he’s only like 24 here.

Yeah, they were in a band called Caustic Cause 82/83, then they palyed in our Garage in 1983 in Sunland, California. It was a day party
