Tommy Zvoncheck's still around, too. I jam with him once in a while at the Daq Shak in Madeira Beach. You might not know it, but he also plays a real mean Jon Lord when I do Deep Purple songs with him.

Not only are The Pistols one of the most influential bands of all time but Pil are also very influential. Flea from the Chilli Peppers is a huge fan along with countless musicians on both sides of the pond.

If only Keith Levine and Jah Wobble would have been still be part of PIL in 1983. I was a huge fan of PIL, but despite John Lydon being great, Levine and Wobble had such a distinctive sound that’s missing here. This formation sounds like hired studio musicians play their part, but don’t get it. Rockpalast has contributed a lot to get cool bands to Germany, often outside the mainstream, but in the case of PIL, they were a few years too late. Still great as a document. German Public TV is dead, just trash today.

I totally agree 1983 without Wobble and Levene PIL started to suck and Lydon playing the rockstar is ridicolous nevertheless he remains a great man to this day

It's the band Bill Laswell got Lydon to sack as he thought they'd be unable to play the album he wanted PIL to make ,that album being "Album "

Took the PIL 1983 Pasadena CA convention center, Johnny got pissed off getting spit on almost walked off, energized him and made it a radical show. Saw him couple days later 2:30 a.m. at Vons supermarket in La Canada CA neighboring town, he turned the corner on four of us in the aisle and tripped out, we almost assaulted him he was cool though with his producer getting food believe it or not not booze

Saw this incarnation of PiL at Newcastle Town Hall. Awful crap. Cruise ship musicians and even Atkins could be one. 😢Made me never trust Lydon again. Never trust a hippy .😂😂

Are you serious ? Lydon, Punk and New wave bands in general were awful. It wasnt about how they sounded ffs it was the attitude and giving hope to people who thought being in a band was impossible. If you dont like it why are you here you doughball ? 😂
