Loud noise at night is so stressful…but one person’s noise is another persons ‘Oh, it never occurred to me that this might irritate others’. Your pressure washer and lawn mower would have been ‘noise’ to others, in the same way the helicopter was ‘noisy’ to you, but was just a by-product of the journey to its pilot (and likely wouldn’t have can been considered as disruptive to you). I remember once being on a tour of the Round Tower at Windsor castle and tutting to myself about someone who was taking photos aimed in the direction of the Queen’s private rooms even though we’d been asked not to. It really annoyed me that they’d been so inconsiderate…until I got home, looked at my own photos and realised I’d inadvertently done exactly the same and had pics of the private quarters!! Sometimes you just don’t realise🤷🏻‍♀️😊 BTW Preston is my hometown - welcome Lilia!

💕😀xx hi Ali. I sympathise with you and your anxiety. I’ve never been so stressed and anxious as I have been this last year since my husband has been diagnosed with cancer and it’s now stage 4, metastatic but the chemo has been successful so immunotherapy next so hopefully that will be easier to take. We have to live for the moment and enjoy life. The idea of spells sounds a great idea, puts all the good positive vibes out there. Lots of love to you all, nice to see Lillia back for a few days, SO pleased she is enjoying her new life up there.🥰

My partner also deals with anxiety surrounding events that have happened and could possibly happen again. Some things we have been doing to help is to acknowledge what the worst outcome from the situation will be and how to prepare for that exact situation. Having a plan in place seems to help him feel a sense of control over the situation if it were to arise again. It’s not a cure all but it’s a good first step. Keep your chin up🥳

Good to see Lilia home from school for a short stay. It reminds me of a parent’s college orientation we went to when our own children went off to school. They told us not to be surprised when they came home for a stay that they would consider being able to sleep in their own bed a safe haven.

You asked how to deal with anxiety that isn't caused from something that probably will happen as opposed to something that might happen. You prepare for it. The same way you prepare for Summer. Get some noise cancelling earplugs - the squishy ones. I am also sensitive to noise and sometimes when I come home from a really noisy and sunny day I put them in along with an eye mask on for about half an hour and it works wonders. In an ideal world your neighbors will calm down and be more respectful but you have to take matters into your own hands. Hi Lillia! Glad to see your happy face on the vlogs!

Oh I get this one! We had one that used to bark all night, they’re so much better now thank goodness but it was so anxiety inducing, I think it’s the lack of control and fear of confrontation xx

At our old house the next door neighbour would play her music really loud and I had asked so many times for her to turn it down, my husbands is a brass player he doesn't play at home . I got one of his trombones and sat as close to the wall as I could and then I just played the thing well made a loud sound for like 5 minutes! She got better after that lol

I so understand how you feel about outside noise. We had new neighbours who were awful. Worse was football season when their TV's were all on full along with shouting...all times of the day and night. We ended up moving into a detached house which we were really lucky to be able to do. My daughter made me make intentions to find the perfect place and it worked x PS I live just south from Lilia's university city and yes we have a car :)

Thank you for being here with vlogtober. Catching up whilst in an amazingly quiet campground in Ontario. We are on the homeward journey back to western Canada after visiting the far eastern provinces. I have already had numerous sad moments as I dread the noisy apartment we have had for the past year whilst we decided where to find a home. What a learning curve that was and what incite into how affected I am by noise. I honestly feel like the grinch! Well, over the last year we have travelled in our camper van for a total of six months and the rest of the time I have frantically crafted in order to escape noise (just bought a drop spindle from Fleece and Harmony in PEI to had to my crafting 😊). Best of luck with your spell! Good for Lillia for letting the boring read go. Life is short and fun reading time is precious whilst at university. 🥂

Noisy neighbours are a nightmare. Every house we have ever lived in until this one has been on a busy road. I was so delighted to live in a quiet street but the constant chainsaws, skillsaws, hammering and music I don’t like being played full blast makes our lives a misery.

Oooh a spell to stop noisy neighbours, I love it! I've been saying for a long time now that we must live in the noisiest street ever. The neighbours dogs dictate when we get up in the morning and when we go to sleep some nights. Cars and vans noisily leaving for the day and constant thumping from footballs right next too my garden fence after school and weekends. When there's a party or just a gathering of people it's like it's in my own home and don't get me started on the cigarette smoke constantly wafting into my garden. I now have to shut my windows and door and rarely go in the garden when the evil fog is coming over! I would love to move to a house were the neighbours are much further away but unfortunately can't. So I do the lottery with my one good neighbour in the hope that one day I can🙂. Anyway, lovely to see Lilia again. Mums right Lilia, when you buy bread split it up into several freezer bags putting a couple of slices in each, put in the freezer then just take out what you need as and when. Ali the cowl looks great, love that colour.

Lovely Lillia enjoying Uni…. What else could be better 👍 A bread tip for Lillia is to freeze one half of a sliced bread loaf and keep the other half in the fridge. Works well. Also buy some clips to close the end of the bread bag really tightly. I have to agree with her about the PS Cafe…..had high hopes for it as a cozy read but nope. Hello! it's just 'gilmore girls', without the The ;) Oh, Ali, I so understand your noise anxiety. We used to be surrounded by loads of neighbours who used to play loud (horrendous and tacky) music for hours on end, morning, day and night. It's been quiet for several years now (touch wood) but there's one man right on the opposite side of the block who usually puts his music very loud to musicalize the entire street, had to tell him it was very annoying and he understood (for now). I used to live in total anxiety dreading the minute they would start with the music. Feeling unsafe in my own home. Powerless and frustrated because we complained to every one of them and they just would not care. It's so distressing. Hopefully your spell will work just fine ;)

Yes Ali, I get where you are coming from, I myself and a highly sensitive person, in all manner of ways, noise especially, really had to work on acceptance on environmental noise, I have had to accept that I cannot change it unless we moved to the middle of nowhere. I try to distract myself, wear earphones, meditate, deep breathing etc sometimes easier said than done, but am I going to allow it effect my serenity. Oh I know just what you mean by anxiety-inducing noise. I am the same way, so I bought a home in a very quiet neighbourhood and it has been just lovely. Except once a week when the groundskeepers get out their industrial mowers and leaf blowers. Maddening. But bearable because i know it's temporary and predictable. But for three weeks now every day except Sunday from 7 AM to 7 PM there is a crew digging something up around the building across the street with a backhoe and some little vehicle that makes those back-up beeps every 10 seconds or so. They are currently doing something with mounds of gravel as loudly as they can, shaking it into wheelbarrows and scurrying about shouting. Oh, I knew it was trouble when I spotted a porta-potty parked on the only patch of lawn that is not decimated. A bad omen, a porta-potty! So thank you for giving me a wonderful little respite every day to distract me. It's been perfect. I hope your feather magic works for you!

I’m spoiled to live on 13 acres with no neighbors in sight. Occasionally hear a dog bark in the distance, but that’s all. I’m sorry I can’t share my quiet with you. I would be very bothered by disruptive neighbors too. Sending you good juju and calming vibes. I decided to make a list of “ British” English words that we don’t use here in the States ( in the same way) from today’s vlog, just for fun. Have you ever considered moving somewhere quieter? We moved to a village up north. We’re never bothered by noise (the occasional cow, sheep or horse is as loud as it gets) and our money went much further so we have a much nicer house than we could afford down south. You can have a life unbothered by neighbours! Also, since we all walk up here you’d fit right in 😂

I went on the bus today to a nearby town and on the way back a lady got on dressed as a witch. She had an enormous witches hat and was telling another lady that her cloak was made from a black sheet. It annoys me that I have to wear noise cancelers in my own back patio but at the same time I don't want to live completely isolated. What to do? PS store bread loaf in refridge. OOps! I got cut short! I meant to say there's a neighbor who is obsessed with cleaning and vacuuming his car. And when he's not doing that, he's using his leaf blower to get every single leaf off his driveway. 🙄 I hate leaf blowers. I've had to shut all the windows on the front of my house before so the little one we watch (who is VERY noise sensitive) can take her nap. For me it's just frustrating, irritating and sets me on edge. For her, it's downright painful. 😥

I just wanted to say you never answered my question about your walks I think it was Vlog 3 or 4 when you go on a walk to a new field and it has so many routes. I just wanted to know how do you track yourself that you are on the right path and how do you not get lost? I just wanted to know how you track yourself but some of the walks look scary. I used to put people in the freezer 😂😂 my friend, now RIP, was a spiritualist she said if anyone is bothering you write their name on some paper put it in an ice cube tray and freeze it, this will freeze them out of your life. I have had many a noisy and neucence neighbour in my freeser, and people I worked with 😂😂 seemed to work 👻

Haha of course! When there’s a waning moon gather some white feathers, then make a paste of coarse salt, black pepper and vinegar. Sprinkle the paste outside your doors and windows, then sprinkle the feathers with a calming scent and place above your doors - voila! If nothing else a lovely smelling feather will fall on you next time you open the door 😄 🪶

I wonder if that spell would work for the sports club we live kind of opposite. I don't mind the sounds of football/rugby/cricket matches, but the music past midnight is a bit much. There is also a house on the opposite side of the valley (i live in area called the valley of 1000 hills, outside Durban, South Africa) who plays drums and music throughout the weekend (like through the nights until 7 am). Thankfully we have large properties to cope with septic tanks, so our immediate neighbours are ok.
