It’s hard to interact with Maus people always rip on the interviewer but Maus speaks in a way that can be very new to some people because he really gives his full attention to a question but at the same time is jarring with his body language and motions it’s like watching a mental break down. It would be cool if the person interviewing him also knew who the hell he was

It’s the interviewers job to know the interviewee, Nardwuar for example, in some interviews has indicated he doesn’t really listen to the music of the artist he’s interviewing. But his preparation and research before interviews is clearly thorough, even if he doesn’t listen to the artists, you can be fairly certain that he has heard their work at the least, and then investigates them enough to shock nearly everyone he interviews with his knowledge.

Kind of breaks my heart hearing him say he hopes he can still be of some use in the future, and to “draw blood from the stone”…and then there are people who are SO dogmatically fascist in their worldview that they would go so far to say that John is one of the “BAD ONES” and write him off completely. John Maus is very much a John the Baptist figure of our time (“Prepare ye the way of the Lord”) - we should lend him an ear. We need his music! I hate our current culture of online virtue signaling tribalism... Sure, John may have some odd views and has associated with some interesting figures, but from what I can see he almost certainly is not a “Nazi” or a “fascist”… It’s such a disproportionate, unrealistic way of viewing things IMO!
@EASFromTheWest9 ай бұрын

I was really expecting more from the interviewer, he should have asked John questions, about phillosphy, is he going to release more music, politics. How he's doing currently. Synthesis and musical inspirations, not questions related to him peeing, the interviewer should realize he's sitting next to a dam near musical genius, in terms of how he writes his music as well in terms of genre bending. Really dissapointed Noisey, was expecting more
