This investment really pays off, superb work Mike! Verification & Testing: as you say confidence the gearbox or transfer box work, works, don’t leak and not noisy, especially important when shipping repaired equipment to customer to fit who may make a complete bxllxcks of it. Faultfinding, absolutely invaluable as you have illustrated, try doing that on the vehicle. There cannot be any/many other specialists in Canada or N America who can do this with this degree of expertise, not sure we have anyone in the UK with a similar test setup other than Ashcroft or Syncchro Gearboxes maybe!

I do not think the latter test like I do - BUT they fit all new parts where needed, and with being in North America, I do not have access to good used parts

Dr and The Mechanics (Medics). The best demonstration for the need of your test rig. Pity you've got to strip it down again, but hopefully it isn't to much of a pain to sort. I don't worry about nuclear war, I worry about a totalitarian one world government, c'lie'mate change and not having enough carbon credits left due to buying a pint in a pub outwith my geofenced area!

start with low speed as possible so you can find the Frequenc for me its a Mark on a toth

What oil do you recommend for the LT 230? I have always used a synthetic 80/90 living in a similar climate to you, but seems ATF is used by some people. I use MTF94 on my main gearboxes.

I use 80w90 - ATF is OK in colder climates, but I cannot say 100%

It goes with the speed of your driven shaft. It is not a bearing.

Dr Mike gets the gearbox to turn it's head and cough. Testing bench is saving the day, how many man hours has that just saved you 👍

No, because of the heat transfer and if it is a bad toot it will not show up on the casing temperature

Hello Mike !!! Great fan/follower/subscriber from North Portugal !!! I am on my Land rover number 21 these days .... I need HELP !!! 1996 frame of rebuilt 300 tdi 130, 65 000 km original.... Myy fuel lines /filters keep getting clogged from diesel and the car dies on me every 2(3 months ... New lines, new tank, already changed gas stations ... the problem keeps happening .... Thinking of hiring an exorcist 😁!!!! any thoughts ??? If you d like a holiday in Portugal I run a 300 YO family Wine Guesthouse ....
