I played it for 6 hours strait on my first sit down with it . I absolutely love it . It is my favorite roguelite to date . Super addicted .

My first run (successful) took me near 12 hours. The next two tries, I just died at the hand of commanders who resisted all my moves. Run after was tight but made it in only 8 hours. My last run is kinda in limbo xD

Roguelite and repetition. Thats a big NO for me. But i must admin- it looks gorgeous.

Really wish I'd checked out more reviews before picking this game up, but I was so easily sold on the incredible visuals and fantastic combat that I never paid any attention to the core game mechanics and the dreadfully depressing rogue elements. The audio and visuals to this game are absolutely amazing, and the combat has a ton of depth and variety, but man do the rogue elements completely kill the fun factor.

I'm always disappointed when I see a game that looks so good, but has rogue or souls elements.
@adamluther5836 Жыл бұрын
@@pauls9034 I honestly don't mind most souls elements so much, well, until fall damage kills me and I lose all currency, then I'm not fond of them. I simply hate most rogue elements, though. They don't respect your time, or your wallet, and tend to be a litany of cheap filler content that offers little in the way of unique or noteworthy experiences. There are certainly a few exceptions (Dead Cells, Hades, etc) but most just tend to add more or less polish to the same trash, IMO.

There are so many pitfalls for an (indi) devolper: If a game is to hard or to long, you push away the casual gamee, if it is to easy or to short you will get steamrolled by the nerd/hardcore commando (esp on reddit). Reagarding rouge-like/lites: Why there is no difficulty setting (just adjust the health/shield values), so the casual games only need somewaht between 3-10 runs to finish the game (in about 10-15 hrs) and the nerds get their challange as well?
@TyPugs4 жыл бұрын
There is a difficulty setting once you beat the game. The difficulty is being thrown out of wack by reviewers. It took me 8 hrs to beat across two runs each time making it to the final boss. After you beat it you get a difficulty slider. A lot of reviewers must be just clicking through the game because the game will literally tell you how much damage you will take and from where. I dont play a lot of games like this either, it's just not as hard as people are saying.

I really may consider this game because I love the sci-fi turn based RPG mechanics but never really played many rogue like games so this looks very interesting & challenging at the same time 😂
@DeyvsonMoutinhoCaliman3 жыл бұрын
A shame they won't allow a better progression, rogue likes and lites are terrible (save a few that allow a solid progression), I don't know why they keep doing it.
@ohitsmerenz4 жыл бұрын
Really... That’s kind of a letdown. Usually rogue-like fit games that are not story-driven or has progression, so this is a red flag. I wouldnt want to play 1-2 hours then have it all wasted bc I died and sent back to the beginning lol

Sadly for me "Roguelike + procedurally generated + each run" means stay the fuck far away from this. This type of game always feels like they have an air of disposability and banality to them. The game looks gorgeous but what an instant turn off. True Story

It's interesting, I've been playing it for a few hours. I don't understand the idea of the cards at camp. It's a cutesy-poo little mechanic that illustrates the 'power of friendship'. It just doesn't seem to fit the hard-core narrative or style of the game. I don't even know what it really does yet. Overall it's a fun game with interesting graphics.

maybe if i was younger like in high school or college this would have been cool but completely losing all your progress? As an adult who is always busy with real-world issues, family and relationships, this is unacceptable. You die in 2nd world and get kicked to main menu to start over? sorry not sorry but that is an absolute joke, i barely have time to finish full story games but now this one wants me to start from scratch? get outta here, such a shame too because the game looks absolutely gorgeous. the artists did an amazing job

Getting pretty sick and tired of all the constant roguelikes. Especially ones that are harsh and without much saved progression. It just turns the game into a repetitive slog. All of them are basically auto-skip for me, and this game sadly looks like another skip.
