I had heard about this game but wasn't planning on buying it but I saw the demo and downloaded it on a whim. And holy crap the game blew me away! The level of ambition and quality on display is stunning! After finishing the demo I immediately pre-ordered the collector's edition! Every single aspect of this game is of the highest quality! I really feel like this game is going to be considered an all-time great! It feels like it has elevated JRPG's to the next level! And I think the fantasy world within a fantasy world conceit really works! I can't stop thinking about this game and the 11th can't get here soon enough!

I am much the same. I don't consider myself much a player of Persona games despite enjoying playthroughs of them and owning a couple of the games myself, but the moment I downloaded Metaphor: Re-Fantazia I was hooked on its fantasy setting and the gameplay. It feels so polished to play and was very intrigued by the world to a degree I've not felt for any RPG in a very long time.

its good, but not better than P5R or DQXIS.., and not as well balanced on high / higher settings. ... AND the art style => androgynous characters have peaked here.., aside of a dude with a beard, almost everyone could be a male or female.., no telling for sure, unless they tell you.. ... nowonder the "woke" journalists liked it (they normally have aversions against classic-like JRpgs..) ... personally, don't mind anime characters that are male but look like a girl (eyelashes, lips etc.).., they are actually often very interesting characters, but here they went ffing overboard

@@Leone96 Do you know how jealous many fans are of those who get to experience Persona and the SMT games for the first time...? Man your in for a wild ride....And yeah, they are ALL masterworks of art. My favorite is Persona 3, but 4 and 5 are not far behind imo. They will eat your time up, but they are so good you won't notice or care. Its odd....As I was around from the first Final Fantasy waaay back in the late 80s, I always thought that square would be the ones to evolve the genre into the modern era. But they try to hard to be "mainstream" and have abandoned all that made FF special, and now Atlus has left them in their dust! I was one of the 10 or so people who bought and liked Persona 1 haha. So seeing how it ended up? Never saw it coming....

Probably the most generous demo I have ever played. I logged about 4 hrs into it and it was worth every minute. I pre ordered it and cant wait to continue where I left off. I would describe this as Persona with a Lunar Silver Story style of animation and art. It's more JRPG than Visual Novel. Exactly what I have been waiting for.

This looks Amazing the only thing i'm on the fence about is the timed deadline main quests, How generous are the timers? Not particularly keen to play via a guide to not put 90 hours in and get a bad ending.

If you played any persona game, not meeting the deadline just soft resets you. You keep some of your stuff and reset to the start of the mission.

The first deadline presented in the demo is 10 days (though you only get to play 3 of them in the demo) which should give you plenty of time. I'm assuming deadline dungeons would need about three days, though there will likely be some you can push through in less. Three days is just the best amount of time to set aside to guarantee it all goes well.

And I'm not lying about the DLC being ready before the game released, the entire thing was leaked back then, then they rushed to announce it like 2 weeks after that while saying stuff like "We listened to fans after the game released, so we are adding the Answer as a DLC", acting as if they had started working on it after the game released. Thankfully no one was dumb enough to really believe that in just two weeks they saw the feedback, greenlight the DLC, prepared a full trailer for it, all while also already having a release date. So, sorry, but not sorry. Atlus brought this upon themselves.

​@@nathanscott2871unfortunately the reviews for daybreak 2 are saying it suffers from what I call in book series "middle book syndrome" where there's a lot of world building and character work and the story beats are way more spaced out and the plot doesn't start to ramp up til the end and I'm assuming this is to set the stage for the next game following that entry. I loved daybreak 1 though van js great. I've just gotten trails fatigue having played all of them in a year back to back. My only atlas gsme I finished was p5 royal so far but am in August with p3 reload and taking it slow but I'm loving what this is offering. And as far as people calling this woke because it has racism and a corrupt society with backwards morals, welcome to the high fantasy genre! It's literally been a trope in fantasy literature forever and it's not as simple as the racism we experience in our world. It's different species who come from different worlds with a lot of different history of each tribe.

The graphics of the game are definitely not the best, but they were still the best for me when it came to art design and gameplay. I was able to immerse myself in the game and had fun because it was hard to explain. I'm sure the new ip's game makes such a strong impression because of the "Persona" series, but I feel like the metaphor has its own charm. I especially like the worldview. This is a really good game for me. This was the first time I've ever played a demo version of the game to the end. I had no idea the result was that this game was coming out until a few days ago, but now I'm done pre-purchasing.

I actually ended up pre ordering the game. I know there's this huge pushback against pre ordering games, but the demo came out for it and I played some of it and I was very impressed, to the point where I was confident in the final product. I haven't played every Persona game yet, I've only played some of Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload, but this seems like it takes the concept of Persona and spins it a bit in more of a fantasy direction, and I know there's more to it than that, which is why I'll be checking it out this week! I was already sold on this but after playing the demo I can see why Atlus continue to succeed in making games..... The problem with the popularity system is that it's fixed. You can't get too popular at various stages as it would break the story, which is understandable yet a shame.

I don't know if it really counts, since the game came out in 2021 originally, but for me Daybreak is undeniably the game of this year. 150 hours and not a single minute of regret.

Daybreak is great, but Daybreak 2 is pretty mid unfortunately, that's disappointing

@@BlowBow2 I ain't gonna spoil anything, but Daybreak 2 introduces something that ruins the whole Trails storyline. So yeah, that's unfortunate. Kai no Kiseki (Daybreak 3) is pretty good though
