Noita Arena PVP (1vs1 against TanksyPlays)

This is a slightly older version of the Noita Arena/Noita Online mod but I had a ton of fun dueling ‪@TanksyTube‬ .
I plan to do many more duels in the future as I think there is a lot of skill expression and entertainment to be had so look forward to more of these!

Yeah, steal speells from the winner, but increase theri shop for each win, remove the refresh from the holy mountains, and put 1 refresh in the arena for people to fight over it, and increase the chance of healing spells appearing in the shop. These changes would probably make a more fair and interesting progression.

Also maybe remove homing, cuz that is not fun! (short range and others could still remain maybe, maybe not accelerating)

For sure, it sure has changed a lot in a short time! I just had so much fun with my gaming session with Tanksy I wanted to share this one anyway.

I think one change that might pay dividends fun-wise (if it's possible, I suspect it's not) is to increase the amount of time the camera shows the arena after a player dies. A lot of spell combinations instantly kill you before you can even see what happens, and it's just fun to be proud of / in awe of what you've created. Even just an empty arena with no players would be something, but I suspect it's not possible because it looks like you are teleporting the players so they don't actually die? Idk if that is correct

After you get killed X times from a certain player/wand the wand spawns in the losers holy mountain, this way the instakill wand will be not so useful anymore, instead you have to rethink your strategy

Removing freezing spells or any other spells that stop you from doing anything seems necessary as well as removing homing

Thankfully there's now spell and perk banning so that is an option!

Idea: if you lose (5?) fights in a row you start getting perks and/or wands replace spells. And, for the wand in holy mountain instead of spells thing, the level of wand gets higher with each loss, i.e. mines wands vs jungle+ wands

@@AliasGaming0 Warning, long Another idea - assuming it’s not already a thing: the host of a lobby can disable/enable spells and perks, kinda like disabling items in the smash bros series. This would let a person remove stuff like homing or that perk that prevents wand editing from the pool. Alternatively, or additionally, spells(/perks) have tiers of some kind, so things like most of the homing types and unlimited spells would be highest tier. Also, not entirely related; I think some of the homing types aren’t actually that bad for pvp, at least compared to the ones everyone uses (i.e. normal, short range, accelerating, and field), like the one that homes in to where you’re aiming or the one that auto locks onto where a target is but doesn’t actually home. Something like the curve towards target one may be a bit iffy though, but since it doesn’t accelerate the spell it might not be that bad. Also, even less related: I don’t have Noita myself but something I’ve thought about before is stacking multiple trigger/timer sparkbolts with the lock on homing (sparkbolt - lock-on - sparkbolt - lock-on - etc), kinda like a "better" chain bolt

@@ocomolinaehain1795 There are now perk and spell bans which is super nice! Also multi timer/trigger stuff is kinda functional, just stacking timers for more range is nice but multiple auto aims or homings get very expensive. I appreciate ya sharing your ideas and hope you can pick noita up on a sale!

@@Aaaa-jn4bmunfortunately the mod does not translate super well to coop and I imagine it may never. The dream of coop is still alive, just not with this modset.
