Noita PVP: Open Lobby Decimation of Chat

This is an edited down piece of my first day streaming noita pvp. I had a ton of super fun moments I wanted to share and I wanted to keep this one with good continuity, I intend on editing down another chunk with only super highlight moments rather than having full rounds. I hope you all enjoy!

Evaisia wrote a Lua compatibility layer for Steam Online's C++ libraries, so now Noita mods that utilize it can implement multiplayer through Steam! She also wrote the Arena mod itself as a proof of concept.

@@FreeRadicalX Oh god, imagine Noita Together but using this mod so players can fight their way to the bottom. Would have to tweak Holy Mountains a bit but outside that it'd get interesting.

I love this video! Finally getting to see some really good, classic Noita, "broken" gameplay in this mod! Hilarious and nonsensical, chaotic and just fun. BTW, KZbin is grumpy at this video for some reason? I was switching from my phone to my laptop so I searched for a few words in the title, and couldn't find it at all; after a few attempts I typed in the full title and this video was maybe sixth in the search results, behind some other AliasGaming videos, and some other channels... No idea what any of that means, but maybe you want to know this, Alias?

oh man, I'm not sure. I thought I did pretty well on my keywords and stuff but maybe I was too specific. I find the algorithm is often unfavorable toward me but it must be something I'm doing. I really appreciate you letting me know though! And I'm really glad you enjoyed the video, I've been loving the pvp mod so much!

I love it. Now I want to find a group of people to play with. I've only been able to play one person so far. Seems like my usual late-evening (Pacific time) game time isn't greatly compatible with many other Noita players.

There should be a bit of organization to the rounds. Where sometimes everyone does not have Teleport, or "everyone" has a shield, stuff like that. This is very fun, but also very asymmetrical .

I imagine there will be more structured options in the future, but yeah in the current state there is a fair bit of luck at play. I like how different everyone's builds end up though!

Objective based game modes have definitely crossed my mind as well! Hopefully once the rest of the bugs are ironed out things like that can be experimented with!

Hey how do you prevent crashing in this mode?

Basically every time I crash I use the minidump mod and send the report to evaisa. This is still an early access mod and there's lots of things that break sadly. Hopefully if we keep sending enough reports it will be as stable or even more stable than base noita.
