The Rock boss is most definitely a Jojo reference. It is a reference to the stand "Rolling Stones" because as its name suggests, Rolling Stones takes on the appearance of a spherical rock. It will predict the nearby death of someone in the vicinity and automatically follow them; once touched, it will kill the victim in a peaceful way. When Rolling Stones targets a victim, it'll gradually change appearance to resemble them in their dying moments; even the dust remains of Rolling Stones molds itself in the image of the victim.

man, that kinda lore reminds me of Synthetik. game’s a lot like noita - go in, explore, find a combination of spells and weapons that turns you into a god amongst machines, die to your own dumbass mistakes. I LOVED the premise of being hunted in that game, because it wasn’t like so many other games where the enemies are either trivial or suffering from plot-induced-armour. the ‘mercenaries’ (think a squad of Steve’s that follow you relentlessly) were ACTUALLY tough! like, they had their own upgrades to make their guns fire 10x as fast as usual, tough! damn. now I’m gonna redownload Synthetik. after a run of Noita!

henkevä temple means "breath-y temple"/ "souls-y temple" / "lively temple", can be used in many ways, but generally along these lines. "henkevä" is an adjective version of the word "henki", which by it self means "soul/ghost, breath, life(generally: alive)" source: im finnish. | Spoilers below: i find this as an interesting choice of words of the temple, instead of just "temple of mimicry" or something, but they specifically chose "henkevä" for it, which in it self points to the fact of giving life to the potions. but: there could be more to it

11:48 if shortening the duration causes an integer underflow, that actually means the timer is just set to a very high value, not infinite. So after approximately 49 days of keeping the game running, there is a chance you would reappear. Might be worth investigating.

Naaah, Arvi, who works under contract to NollaGames, had plans to add it several months ago, but just ran out of time on his contract and didn’t get to finish and add it. This patch *was* really well-timed, though, lol, after Dunk’s 57-hour run and my 4-month long base-building/alchemy experiment run ;P But that’s not WHY Touch of Grass was made and added.

there are also temples in the work sky up above the shops on the right side, they have flipped T tunnels filled with water at the top with lots of tier 10 spells and 2 on the inside in water, havent explored to the sides tho

I recently watched a dunk or slam video where he talked about touch of grass being added conveniently after he did a nonstop livestream until he did every quest in the game. Now you can "conveniently" obtain it in a quest line that makes the past 4 months of your alchemy run much easier. Just noticing a pattern here.

The weirdest thing happened to me today, as of right now : I was on my way to complete the new puzzles but first went to the boss arena, and the rock boss was here as expected, however I fired my black hole wand by accident which killed the little potion dude sitting in water on top of the middle puzzle. So I went back to the boss, but he was literally gone !

@why_i_game But Lohkare/Kivi can’t really do that. It’s in a largely enclosed room and can’t go through walls. And while I have seen it somehow manage to get up to the top of the temple and jump off (I have no idea how it managed that) it got stuck in a loop of falling down and getting teleported back up. (It didn’t get moved horizontally so it just kept falling over and over) It seems like if it gets too far from the temple (at least vertically) it gets teleported back.

You can still complete the quest when you lose the Mimicium flask I think. You can throw an empty potion at the mountain altair and get mimicium flask rain. I haven't checked if those work for the quest though. Also the quest exists in NG+.

First off, awesome video, and I have a meh "theory" (more so observation than anything) below, so spoilers: I would like to note something about the background tablet things in the temples. Every time one is visible, it relates to casting a spell: sea of mimicry for the wavy tablet in the fish temple, and touch of grass for the spikey tablet in the barren temple. There is also one of these tablets in the background of the kivi temple (Also, the name of the boss and temple changed to Kivi and Kivi temple, so "stone"). As for the tablet, I initially thought it meant to cast rock or petrify toward the boss, but rock did nothing, and petrify does not work either. One thing I wanted to test was casting the explosive detonator spell, since it deletes projectiles from existence (guessing that the rock boss itself WAS the spell depicted on the tablet), but it did nothing. I am going to try again with some of them, as some tests initially used mods (because I was lazy)

Oh fun fact! The Ominous and Henkeva temples are actually mirrored in Hell, and are packed with spells you can buy, while having few enemies on them. They’re basically spell shops, and are found in every single “Biome Loop”! I presume they’re also found in Heaven (as below, so above), but might be harder to find due to the fact you’re searching for them in a wide gap between a Mines copy and a Hell copy, and heaven doesn’t have obvious horizontal boundaries like the cave that hell is in does.

Im very convinced there is more to the quest than even covered here: Concerning the arrow, there is always a pile of diamond and sand directly below it, and a piece cut out of the building. Im convinced this is what the arrow is pointing to, rather than anything significantly deeper. What to do with that? Idk. I realize the 3 ghosts are signposted, but "rewarding" you with death is what Noita does when you do things "wrong" (think poly+chest rain fixes, spawning squidwards at the dark sun, that type of thing)

The 3 ghosts are an appropriate risk-reward in disguise, actually. They can spawn with wands that your previous runs were using, meaning potentially super powerful wands that you're already familiar with.

@@Rhino1004 while I agree, this is also why I disagree. The ghosts themselves are a proper risk reward imo, but to kill a boss to be rewarded with ghosts is less so. Basically, for the work most players will have to put in to kill him, the fact that bones files are randomly picked (you don't actually know the reward beforehand) and that they spawn with life equal to yours, this all tells me it's meant to kill you more than to reward you. I don't think I'm super right tho lol, what you said is entirely plausible approach to reward too

There absolutely HAS to be more to the spell that hides you from the gods. It has such interesting implications. For one, it means the gods are ALWAYS watching you and see you at any given moment, and that they immediately panic and look for you when they don't see you. This all makes my brain just buzz with theories. Mainly though, what other things in the game are linked inherently with our player character? Would this spell effect Kolmi for instance? If we vanish from the world, would he revert to his zero orb health version for that time?

Casting it in the sun was the first thing I did after seeing that. Unfortunately, nothing new appeared. But increasing brightness, contrast and gamma in the settings DOES totally help to make the glyphs appear on certain backgrounds.

Darn, my only other guess would be light from the Sädekivi (Beamstone) or its referring to bringing luminosity to the correct location with those settings. That's all on the assumption it doesn't just end with the setting change. Also thanks for making all your videos. They have been a joy to watch over the years.

Strangeness to be noted. When carrying the mimicium potion, your homing shots home in on you like they're trying to kill the potion but cant hit it

Yeah, that was supposed to have been fixed, along with a few other major "bugs" from this update, but...it looks like maybe they changed their minds about that, idk. But, yeah, it's a VERY cool effect to be able to home spells into yourself while carrying one of those (they also trigger Close Call constantly while in your inventory, making you crit constantly.)

Hey Viker. This video here is a rundown of the latest content. The new big patch "Epilogue 2" that was pushed to main is actually all the beta patches that have come out over the last 10 months or so. I've already covered all the content from these patches as each came out over the last 10 months.

Can you go to the lokkhare while polymorphed into a lowhealth enemy like a sheep or hamis to lock its health? Or will it immediately shift back to your own health after the polymorph ends? Is the ahared healthbar active while polymorphed?

Without realizing it, attempting to get the lava lake orb, I polymorphed into a mimicium potion! Couldn't control it whatsoever, and died of course

Nice, I love the lore and stuff but I can never get to do NG+ let alone be lucky enough to have the right wands. Some runs I just simply never get tp bolts or anything that digs through the holy mountain. Been like 3 years but I still run into the issue of just plain bad wands that can't get me through level 3

5:40 There is actually a hint to help learn to put pheromone on the flask. I forget on which island but there is a hidden pool of pheromone.

Yeah, I showed that in the video. The pheromone pool is on the same island as the empty flasks.

So apparently the outhouse only gives you "Touch of Gold?" if you haven't already unlocked it yet or unless you've got poop rock. Been waiting a while to make a good run with urine, got a good seed with it and came to this realization :(

Hey just wanted to note that I've come across a potion mimic naturally I think in Fungal Caverns. So maybe they are a very rare spawn outside of the guarantee?

Wow, amazing lab that you made for alchemy. I am not too sure those are the images to be seen by changing the video settings, they are far too small and seemingly just details, i think there are more things to appear under those settings than that, have you tried going to that other dimension with those settings?
