I just like the gain margins they show you. But yeah, definitely not free. Definitely not worth buying it just to buy it alone. Way better if you can find it in a pack instead.

@@RikiAbi It's a really handy utility. The only thing it doesn't have that I wish it did (last I checked), was the ability to swap L/R channels. I have high-end hearing loss in one ear and need to swap channels while mixing. I use bx_solo for that. Edit: I stand corrected... they did add a L/R swap to ISOL8, so I will have to thank them for adding my suggestion..

I mean, you can really just do this visually using the analyzer while listening to the whole mix. After all, it's only in the context of the whole frequency spectrum that you can know which area needs to be increased or decreased. Soloing different bands is just a way of confirming what you already know.

Not that useful if you're not experienced enough and there's nothing wrong with using tools to aid you achieving industry requirements. Put this bullshit 'purist' mentality aside and realize that even the most prolific/successful musicians/producers use samples, presets and whatnot. Shit, nowadays we put mediocre bozos on a pedestal, passing them as the next Mozart, while if you were to shut down their auto-tune mid performance they'd sound like a gay porn actor shooting a scene.
