Sadly all the original “Ventures” are gone now….Mel Taylor(age 62,drummer) died in 1996, Bob Bogle (one of founders in 1958, age 75, lead guitarist) in 2009, Nokie Edwards (age 82, guitarist) in 2018, Gerry McGee (age 82, guitarrist) in 2019 and lastly Don Wilson(founder of the band in 1958, age 88, guitarist) in January/2022.

Grew up listening to the Ventures. I think I had every album that they produced. I owe my intense interest in Guitar to them. Spent countless hours trying to achieve their style . Absolutely the BEST instrumental guitar group ever !!!

That drummer looks like Leon Taylor, Mel Taylor's son as this was about the time Leon filled in for Mel who was very ill.
