Kenny - I didn’t feel he was acting like a clown! I’m excited and proud that he did a reaction from the Bee Gees at all!!! He wasn’t even alive during the Bee Gees era, so of course his emotions would not be the same as mine! He won’t know or understand unless someone can share their history with him and not bash him!!! 2 things you should know about this song 1. It was not written about Andy but written for him and he recorded it on his album Shadow Dancing in 1978. 2. They wrote a tribute song for Andy in 1989, the year after he died, called "Whish You Were Here". They never performed this live as it was to emotionally for them and therefore they used this one instead.

This song was written by Barry. Yes, Wish You Were Here wasn't easy for them to sing live, which Robin knew. Yet in 2002, he desecrated it by altering it, changing the lyrics & recording it himself. Other than Mo passing, that's what ultimately ended the group & why Barry would no longer work or tour with Robin.

@@kthor Yes, you are correct, exactly why Robin choose to do that is a bit of a mystery. They however in late 00´s had talks about working together again, not as the Bee Gees as they would not do that without MO but just coolaborate again. That unfortunately never happened escept for a few live performances on different shows, partly because Robin sadly passed away and also maybe there still were some tension there.

Andy was the youngest of 4 hugely talented brothers. Tragically, he was first to leave this earth. Andy was a solo artist with his brothers as back up vocals. They wrote together as well. I still have Andy's Shadow Dancing album. Yes kiddos, it's on vinyl.

This song was written by Barry Gibb and Blue Weaver and recorded by the Beegees. It was then released first by Andy Gibb wlth an added bit, and the original recording by the Beegees was released on a compilation album the next year. Both studio versions were great of course. In this live version, the Beegees are much older, and singing live, you do not get the polished performance of the studio. But this live version had real emotion. I'm not sure the guy reviewing the video realised that the middle bit was a recording of Andy singing. It was done brilliantly though andxit will remain with me as one of those great moments from Beegees concerts I attended.

Another thing worth noting is on Andy's version, it was just Barry singing backing vocals. Then on the Bee Gees version, of course it's Barry singing lead with just Andy on backing vocals. So the 2 brothers kinda flip-flopped on the 2 recordings.🎼

Sung at their One Night Only (ONO) concert in Las Vegas. The twins were still alive that year. Barry said before they sang it:”This one’s for Andy”. ❤ It was Robin who actually took care of Andy until this youngest brother died. I miss Robin immensely. Maurice too. Rest in peace, rest in pride. ✝️💟 More power to jyou, Barry, you did your best walk. I watch all the Bee Gees’ ONO constantly to decorate my soul.💓

Andy was my preteen crush.. Loved some Andy.. the Bee Gee's were old men to men at the time.. I'm old now.. 57.. I've lost my Daddy and my one sibling who was 3 yrs older than me.. I miss her everyday.. I still have Mom but I've had to put her into a facility, some days she doesn't know me.. it's rough.. But I truly cannot imagine being the oldest brother and burying 3 younger brothers. and your parents.. the pain is too much for me to imagine.

It’s just so fkt up because listen to how exactly well Andy would have fit in the puzzle with his 3 other brother’s voices. Ya know? The three almost sound like one sound but sort of take turns going higher and lower to make the perfect chord. And Andy was the baby of them. So fresh and clean. Almost sounds exactly like Barry but cleaner. I understand that’s why he might have wanted to just be his own person, but damn it would have been so beautiful. The instruments that they were blessed with… they could do anything they wanted to do. ❤️ So tragic. Damn, we think our choices are just about how we feel at the moment, and not about our history.

The Entertainment Industry was and is much harder than most people realize. The Bee Gees, The Jackson's, and even the Osmond Brothers went through some very tough times to produce hit songs. It certainly wasn't all fun and games and get rich. The Jackson 5 were ruled very harshly by their Father. Michael and Janet enjoyed success aside from the older brothers, but it wasn't without much controversy. The Bee Gees had success and brother Andy had his success, but it didn't come without tragedy. The Osmonds got noticed by a very famous Andy Williams of whom gained fame after recording with his brothers. A lot of people didn't know that most of the older Osmonds were actually deaf, but learned to perform and harmonize very well as well as play many different instruments. Tell me that was an easy feat to achieve. They were also succeeded by their two younger siblings Donny and Marie Osmond. You can probably add several other family groups that went through struggles and tragedy too.

Robin didn't step back because he wasn't able to look at the screen. And if so, it was only because he felt guilty for not helping Andy, when he needed him. Also, Robin never took care of Andy unto he died. Andy was in the UK working on a new album, after writing and recording 4 songs with Barry & Mo in Miami. He became depressed from writers block so began to drink, which ultimately caused his heart to give out from myocarditis. Robin should've helped him write when he could see Andy needed help & was struggling.
