The Safest Citizenship by Investment Countries

Vanuatu has been my home since 2018. Andrew mentions that comprehensive safety statistics are not readily available, but from both research and experience, I can testify that if safety is important to you, Vanuatu is about as good as it gets. My house is smack in the center of the capital city Port Vila, and I walk most places without any fear (unlike the US). Violent crime is exceedingly rare, most especially to expats. The people of Vanuatu are the gentlest, most non-aggressive people I have ever gotten to know. Plus almost all of them are Christians who believe that they answer to God for their actions (complete religious freedom however). You also have little to fear from the government, which never kills anyone, and governs with a very light touch. Much freedom. Vanuatu loves peace, and they have no enemies. Since independence, they have had no mobs, gangs, riots, coups, revolutions, or wars, at all. No armed forces, because they don't need any. I'm sure no nuclear missiles are aimed at Vanuatu. There are no wild animals or even insects in Vanuatu which will harm a human being. You are safe from starvation because there is always abundant food growing nearby, or in the sea, year-round. The air and water are remarkably pure. The main threats to safety are hurricanes, earthquakes, and volcanoes. However, we have learned how to deal with them, and remarkably few people are injured or killed. For three thousand years, our islands have provided everything necessary to sustain human life. Whether you just need a bolthole for surviving calamities, a place to live part of the year, or your full-time residence, consider getting residency or citizenship in Vanuatu. It's not hard or expensive. Then if you have to go there, they have to take you in.

you can walk around most of the countries on the planet without fear of violent crime. Take your pick, there aren't that many countries proportionately speaking that are more dangerous that the USA where even the law abiding people are nervous gun nuts

@@samedihuang6941 Why not a true CBI? I have full permanent citizenship rights, and my passport has been honored in dozens of countries around the world. I consider my donation one of the best investments I have ever made.

Might be interesting to explore second residences from the point of view of health care. Of course, you and always choose to travel to get the care you need, but you don't always get to choose where you might need health care. Malaysia-good options. Montenegro?

I'm definitely planning to buy a Caribbean citizenship, then split my time mostly between 2 countries for 340 of the year, traveling for fun to new places the other 25 days, to easily stay below the 183 residency limit for nations that tax residents even without citizenship.

Conscious Crypto The 183 rule is only 1 way to get designated a resident. In the vast majority of countries, If you primarily live there then you are considered a resident even if you spend most of the year traveling.

There is no CBI in Russia, nor any hope of it coming out anytime soon. Turkey is a very attractive alternative option with a similar passport.

Hi Andrew I notice you hardly ever mention Grenada's CBI program. Is there a reason why, because Grenada is probably one of the safest Caribbean countries to live in. Their program also give you some unique benefits over some of the others.

I would say that the only situation where u may need a cbi is if you're an American citizen or of course in more extreme conditions like political persecution, etc, that if you're a westerner that probably doesn't happen. My opninon is if you're not American and u have a decent passport u don't need a citizenship quickly and I'd focus on naturalisation. Perhaps start a business, hire people, or even do the trifecta so in a few years u qualify for citizenship in those places. Cbi programs are expensive and you're basically buying a passport that probably doesn't add much to your current passport or your portfolio while by naturalisation u may spend more in some cases but u have the benefit of living there and usually own property that u can use as u please and even sell in the future

If u don't need to leave Italy then u don't need a second citizenship quickly, u can just wait until things go back to normal

I sold a plot of land and my car for the purpose of obtaining a Vanuatu passport through investment. Five months after I obtained the Vanuatu citizenship and passport, the European Commission imposed a ban on Vanuatu citizens from entering the European Union, so what is the solution?

I am just as furious as you about this, because it puts a big crimp in my travel plans. If the European Commission is telling the truth (likely), this is the result of the Vanuatu government granting citizenship and passports to criminals, in contravention of their own laws. We honest folks are suffering the consequences of the corruption of some Vanuatu officials. The whole country suffers, because their greedy, shortsighted actions have virtually killed the goose that laid the golden egg for poor Vanuatu. The CBI program was the greatest income source for the country. The only solution is for the government to repent, mend their ways, cancel citizenships given to criminals, and convince the European Commission of this. Don't hold your breath till this happens. I'm very sorry for you. Meanwhile, we just have to apply for visas to Europe.

In my opinion there's no difference, the EU imposed a ban on Vanuatu just five months after I got it. Maybe after I get my Caribbean passport, the EU will impose the same visa ban on caribbean CBI also after five years for example, who knows?? because all the pretexts of the European Commission against vanuatu are abyss and the hidden reason behind the visa ban is that the European Commissioner targets all countries with a program Citizenship by Investment with Visa Waiver Agreement at the same time. The European Commission targeting process extends even to the countries of the Union that grant citizenship to investors.

You may very well be correct. I am no more a fan of the hypocritical European Commission than of corrupt Vanuatu politicians. I wish the world were a simpler and more honest place. The powerful often try to squash us little folks. Occasionally we succeed in fleeing before their jackboot descends upon us. That's all we can do. I am now living happily in the Republic of Georgia, a free and safe place (at least for the time being). I have no guarantees to offer you anywhere.
