After today's experience with my car,I really need to learn how to do basic mechanic things on my van. I might try and buy a book. Thanks for watching 🙏.

I admire you for getting out there living your life. I've been living my life for others for 44yrs. I wish I had your courage. So you go girl. I'm proud of you.

The thing people who aren't introverts don't understand is that we are more comfortable being alone than with others, and we are ok with that. It's hard to get bored when you know how to entertain yourself.

Being an introvert is how you'll truly find yourself. It's actually such a blessing 🙏 Stopped forcing myself into social situations since 2018 and wow, I'm a whole new person (for the better). People who are introverted - we shouldn't feel like we should be ashamed, and those who are extroverted definitely need not feel sorry for us lol. It's home to us. Peace. Quiet. Especially coming from trauma.

@@Nomadicintrovert ok I have a few questions and comments here. I’m glad you put your camo jacket over your black shirt. The look says, I’m military. Good protection. I encourage you to listen to Dave Ramsay and read his first book. Ignore his politics and religion if you don’t agree with it. He has financial knowledge that helps anyone. You have a brand new van which should not break down so plan B should not be a second car and a storage payment. Plan B should be a motel for two days or a rental car for two days if needed. Sell the car and get rid of the storage and put the money on your van. I hope you’re not making payments on two vehicles. It was mentioned you paid cash for the van. If so, good. If things are breaking down in your van, consider getting a different more dependable rig (Ford or Japanese). Also, it’s not hard to learn pedicures and manicures. 😂 Just a few comments! Take what you like and leave the rest!

BEFORE you get your van winterized, make sure they understand you will be living in it and using it over the winter. Make sure they fully understand what that means before letting them do ANYTHING. Winterizing means different things, depending on if you will be living in it, or storing it, over the winter. If you will be storing your van and not using it over the winter, it means draining all the water out of your tanks and lines, and then filling the tanks and lines with a propylene glycol anti-freeze liquid, to keep your water lines and tanks from freezing during the winter. But if you are using your van over the winter, you would be wasting your money if you pay for that, because you'd have to drain and flush the anti-freeze out of your tanks and lines, and refill your fresh water tank to use your sink, shower, or toilet, defeating the winterizing by putting water that can freeze back into the water lines & tanks. I think what you need is insulating of your tanks and water lines, so that they don't freeze. That might be difficult and/or expensive if you have any tanks mounted under the van, such as gray water. If you only have a 3 season van, and it becomes impossible to do anything to protect your water tanks/lines from freezing and still be able to use everything normally (sink, toilet, etc.), consider going the anti-freeze winterizing route and then avoid using anything involving water till spring. That means a winter of paper plates, not washing dishes, pots, etc in your sink, using a "pee bottle" and getting an ice chest to store gallons of drinking water in (with no ice), to insulate them from freezing while you are working or sleeping. Most things on the inside of your van should be ok and not freeze while you are in it and running the heat, but when you are away and not running the heat, they can freeze, and the external tanks can freeze, no matter what you do, unless they are filled with propylene glycol anti-freeze. Four season vans are designed differently, with no external tanks. The gray water tank is located under the sink instead of outside. But even those can freeze if you aren't running the heat all the time on cold days, which would likely happen while you are working, unless you have a warm heated garage to park it in.

A lot of people fully winterize and then don’t use the tanks at all. Some switch to a non flush toilet and use bottles of water depending on what temps they are in . 🤷‍♀️
@app103
@app103 2 жыл бұрын
@@skateranddancer And that is more or less what I suggested, if there is no other solution to prevent freezing. I wrote what I wrote for the benefit of anyone that doesn't fully understand what winterizing means, what the limitations are, and the implications for someone that lives in their van full time, year round. It's easy to just tell someone to go get their camper van winterized. But I suspect that many that suggest it heard the term somewhere but don't really know what it means. And I would hate to see anyone spend all that money to have it done, not knowing what it means, and then have a panic attack when they turn on their faucet and what comes out ain't water. Or flush it out and refill with water, thinking their tanks and water lines will still protected all winter because they had it done.

Mmmm coconut milk! That ice cream looked spectacular too. As a Canadian girl who winter camps I suggest the following to keep warm and cozy this winter: Pick up a hot water bottle or 2. Add nearly boiing water to them and tuck them into your sleeping bag at bedtime. Wear wool long underwear or synthetic blend clothing instead of cotton to bed. Cotton keeps you cool not warm! Wear a toque to bed for sure..ah... a knit beanie in American. I suggest a down filled sleeping bag and prefer over a heated blanket. Love your content. Stay safe!

Just FYI: (LOL) The car wouldn't stop if the connector popped off. Once started, alternator will keep the car running until you shut it off. Batteries help start cars, but they don't keep it running. You could take the battery out after the car was started and it would keep running. Enjoyed your video. We all have those days when we plan to do a bunch of stuff and then BAM something unexpected causes us to become sidetracked. I didn't have strawberries for a long time, when I did I had a bad allergic reaction. I ate them anyway a week later and have been eating them ever since without a reaction. Glad your day worked out in the end.

Lol, I'm disabled. And since COVID , I went outside , in the last 2 years, about 25 times. My husband works long shifts, and I'm alone most of the time. And I love it lol I'm never lonely, I'd even be alone more and wouldn't mind. What I miss? Swimming. If I was able in your situation, I'd find an indoor pool with scheduled time just for adults and I'd just go swim. No need for some Olympic style stuff. Just a floating board, and moving while water does it's thing. It's sooo relaxing and soothing and has great meditative qualities. And you are out around some ppl and you can shower as long as you want in hot water lol, that's a plus. 💜

Had something similar happen to me the other day. Thought it was going to be a quick trip to Home Depot to get a few items to fix a screen door; and then off to have my roots done and a facial. That turned into a three hour quest for rubber cording. As someone giving serious consideration to van living, I love that you show that this lifestyle will not save you from the everyday headaches of life. So very happy that your videos were some of the first that got recommended to me in my research into van life.

I just want you to know that being a loner is one of the most human strengths and values and is hard for any of us to achieve, but you could. I am very impressed. You are a very strong person and are self contained. Most people can’t be alone and must depend on other’s company and be socializing at all times. You are obsessed with checking the temp in the van, but I am obsessed with watching your videos😉. By the way, you must have read my comments for the special request. I have been noticing the longer video clips of you. Thanks so much. I appreciate it.

Fellow introvert here. The reason you can't use your 110 outlets off solar is because you don't have an inverter on board. The solar energy is stored in your battery as 12 volt current. You would need to change that to 110 volt to have use of the 110 outlets. I haven't seen an electric blanket powered by USB, but you could get one that runs off 12 volt (cigarette lighter) at any truck stop or online. You can pretty much "winterize" your van yourself by watching a vid or two on YT and you can still use your water at RV parks in freezing temps if you leave your water dripping. You may have already covered this in previous vids, but can you park at work if you need to and why don't you have a TV?
