Thank you guys for sharing what you're learning about the goats, milking them & the process to use it. It motivated us to get some goats & milk them. We started building an area (fencing in) before we get them but I can NOT wait to get them here. Thank you guys SO MUCH for sharing your lives with us. Of all the channels I found when I became interested in this "lifestyle" it is YOUR channel that has remained true to who you are, the life you live, the people who share this life with you & most of all you guys have remained happy, positive, encouraging, willing to learn & not only make the mistakes but haven't hesitated to show that part of the process either. What you dream now will fully manifest next year. Take it one day and lesson at time…because you’re going to miss this. I’ve been following you guys since you were building out the bus…your videos just get more authentic and what you’re doing is the best for everyone compared to the rat race. Have a great week bud.

A very unhealthy situation I have put myself in but I have taken breaks to work outside every so often. Your pure joy through everything you do with the farm is amazing and it really helped to witness the in home water birth to truly feel like a part of this journey with your small family! Look forward to future posts and I will now go to sleep and start from the beginning to see the episodes before that time lapse! lol

Hi guys! I absolutely love your videos and the lifestyle you are creating! I just wanted to make a quick mention about pasteurising your goat milk. I would highly recommend not drinking the milk unpasteurised. As yes, it has all these benefits when it is unpasteurised but the milk can also contain some very harmful bacteria which could result in serious illness and potentially kill you! It’s very dangerous and I’ve heard people refer to it as “playing russian roulette with your life.” (intense I know) I obviously cannot control how you decide to have the milk I just thought I would let you know incase you, or others watching were unaware 🥛😊

Yeah ive seen ones built out of washing machine motors .. they place the pipe up the slew and reduce diameters until it reaches a pressure nozzle in the box aimed at the paddle wheel attached to the motor.
@katsims25632 жыл бұрын
With as much rain as you get, a hydro generator might be a good idea. Build a brook, deep enough, going down the hill, with the hydro generator submerged in it, at the least, part way down the hill. If you have the space at the bottom of the hill for a pond to collect the water, and have a pump to pump it back up the hill to re-run down the hill, you’ll have water for the hydro generator on sunny or just overcast days as well. If nothing else, it could just be a backup during rainy days and rainy, or clear, nights.

With all the rain you guys get, would it be possible to utilize it for power generation to offset bad solar days? If you dug a ditch across the top of your property, you could channel all that through a 2-3” pipe to a lower elevation and run it through a little Pelton wheel with an alternator. Plenty of these set ups on KZbin.

Hey guys love the content. why don’t you guys do a hydro-electric power option. You can put water tanks at the top of the land and build a small dam at the bottom. The fall from the top to the bottom could generate electricity. The dam could have some fish for eating. When you have got a lot of sun you could pump the extra water back into the water tanks at the top of the land for the next rainy day

Love your ongoing story and all the great things happening on the farm. I hope you both decide to “confine” Lola and the pack (yes, you have a pack) to the farm. It’s the kindest thing to do for neighbors & nearby farmers. A group of dogs can get into some pretty awful mischief if continually allowed to run far from home without supervision. It would definitely be the safest situation for the dogs and your farm is full of enrichment for the dogs. So many potential accidents and dangers that you couldn’t possibly help her with if she’s miles from home.

I’ve never tried coffee that actually has other flavors naturally and not needing sugar or creamer. Thank youuuuuuuuuuu making my mornings so great! -Magna PS. For teething, I had chamomile tea in the fridge during these hard times. I rubbed my children’s gums with it, it did help with inflammation. Clove tea for the pain (since it is an anesthetic, just rubbing it on their gums). My pediatrician approved it. During the day I gave them cold fruit in those baby mash bags, the cold really does help with their inflammation. I am sure you’ll be able to find what helps her the best.

Hi Lola's Family, I've been a fan of yours for a while now. Jordan you shouldn't feel defeated, why not use what you have an abundance of, and turn it to your advantage. I know you are busy, but it maybe possible to channel the water to turn a waterwheel. There is such a thing as a waterwheel generator. Also, I notice that the wind turbine seems to be idle quite a lot. I believe that it is not the principle of the turbine that is wrong, but the design of the blades on it. On the internet I've seen spiral type blades that are much more efficient than the blades you have. They catch the wind and easily rotate. Anyway, just a thought or two. Keep doing what you're doing. Your positivity is a great antidote in this increasingly negative world.

I am plugged into the grid. Our power goes out a few times a year. Usually, the generator only needs to run a few hours, but sometimes it is out for days. So, don't feel defeated that you have to run the generator a little bit. It would be silly to have twice as much solar so that you NEVER run the generator when you would only actually be needing that much solar a couple of times a year. It sounds like you calculated perfectly.
