How to bind the range extender / camera on DJI Vision+ or Phantom Vision

In case this helps anyone you must do this on an Android device with a version of 4.x.x You cannot do this with a newer version it seems. I tried on devices using Android 5, 6, 7, 8 and while all of those work after the binding with the camera, and control they will not perform the binding. As soon as I used an old Samsung tablet that was on 4.4 it worked immediately. So this video is perfect in procedure but it will not work with newer Android phones. Thanks for the video, and I hope this comments helps someone out of the frustration I just had!

Simon I have the understanding that the Phantom 2 Vision+ binds with the wifi module inside the craft, not the camera itself.? can you confirm.

i followed your instructions - when i started i couldn't see connection to Phantom on my iPhone, during the binding i could see the connection and when i was done it once again disappeared - could the range extender be shot? i have only had one flight with drone...any thoughts would be helpful

This video is very helpful. But will it sort out my problem? The camera works and can be controlled while flying but there is no image on my iPhone. the recording is fine but you simply cannot see the live feed. Any thoughts?

Hi Simon, I have a problem when i do a wifi device search it finds two addresses for my Phantom 2 vision, one of them will not connect and the other one will connect to DJI app, when I open up the app the connection fails? could you possibly help. Regards Phil

Hey Simon i dont know whats going on when i turn on my WIFI Extender and look for it on my cell phone some times it will not even show up but when it does it will say savedOpen and when i click to conn it will just go away and ill look for it and at the bottom of the list it will say not in range whats going on with it????

hi , good video ! I try to help my friend to bind a new controller and I do the link of the controller but i didn't do the bind of the extender! the cuestion is! I can see the picture from the camara to his telephone but I can't move the camara or control the camara u thing is because of that?

Hi, my Phantom Vision Plus always loosing signal when i fly 200 feet away, even in the open area (FCC Mode). Its been like that from day 1. Is it something i can fix with rebinding wifi extender or there is other solution for my problem. Thanks in advance !

I tried all of that but my phantom just wont connect to my huawei y9 2019, Tried again on my samsung note 8, still the same, on the dji vision app it says connectiin to range extender broken, so frustrated, i thought this product is a high end product but merely tons of problems

hi simon i have 2x pv2+ and I update the range extender on the iOs app Now, I can't see the 3 WiFi stripes above my screen, everyone knows those 3 stripes that means it has a connection. When I connect my wifi and phantom, I can just select my phantom network but i can tell there is no connection as the icon of wifi above on my screen is not there, thats why when go to the app, and there's on my screen 'connection to the phantom failed' . do you have idea in this kind of problem? ps: i rebind my phantom many times now and still no luck.

***** You are the best at replying! I am confused as to what the QR code scan is doing while binding. Is it linking the app to the wifi transmitter on the drone or something more involved happening?

my first flight everything worked great. had a minor crash (not sure if that had anything to do with it) and now video doesn't work. When i went through the rebinding process and reset the extender i could see the Phantom on my wifi, once i finished i could no longer see it again...very frustrating

Can you 'Bind' more than 1 Wi-Fi extender? The reason I am asking is, I have just purchased a second extender and mounted it onto a tripod with 2 TP Link directional antennas for longer range when required however, I would still like to keep my existing extender on the controller and use that for local stuff. Did not know if you could bind 2 different extenders and toggle to whichever one you wanted to connect to? Thanks in advance for your help. If this could be done could someone advise how to do this? Hi Simon thanks for the reply. I did not mean to either have both on at the same time and never to switch between extenders whilst flying. I have the tripod with the antennas for that extra distance so I would use one or the other. I can do the change by carrying out a bind but thought this is a bit of a pain and wondered if I could log both and just switch between systems whichever I need to use. Cheers mate

Helpppp....everything is working on mine but cannot see visual on my samsung..the gimbal is takin photos..i just cant see what am takin...ive had the phantom a couple of mnths and all has worked normally til this week..i have had the phantom in the hatch of my car apart from that nothing is different..try rebind..no luck
