No More Jockeys

Күн бұрын

No More Jockeys is a game created by Alex Horne, Tim Key and Mark Watson.
✔ HOW TO PLAY
On each turn, players name a person plus a category they fall under. That person and category are then eliminated, and subsequent people must not fall under that category. As more categories are added it gets harder, and eventually impossible, to name anyone new.

Unorthodox strategy from Horne, opting for the pregame relocation. A move not seen often in the game. I don't mind it

I for one am a huge fan of the reverse card. I love when a new rule randomly gets made. The beauty of the reverse card is: it's only good before someone goes out, but it's most potent the further you are into the game. it's a risk to hold onto it but it's most rewarding when you do

After all this reverse card business, why not throw in some more uno special cards? Maybe we’ll get a game where someone plays a wild draw 4, and will make someone desperately search for an item of a certain color in 30 seconds, or risk having to perform a name another with 3 additional people in their category. Throw an element of chaos to our weekly No More Jockeys matches

Strong and exciting game. I felt immediately ruffled when Key dared to exclude Penelopes as a starting move. Then the reverse card: Fresh and unpredictable, a whole new piece of Pazzazz! Not sure yet how I feel about it but it’s definitely something that keeps us humble folk BTL interested and on the edge. Finally, the phoning each other - top banter, expertly carried out.

David Dickenson told stories on Bargain Hunt. Here's an example episode in which he spends a fair chunk of the first 8 minutes telling stories about the location they are filming at. This has been a fairly common, possibly ubiquitous, part of Bargain Hunt for as long as I can remember: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aH3Sl4eAlqmGZqs 26th March 2002 from the grounds of Heddon Hall. He was paid to do it, so it was his job. Also certain antiques he'd be shown in the historic venue would have to be handled whilst wearing gloves. Job gloves. Over.

Forget that polysyllabic prejudice. What you've got is a bang bang name.

Remember on Taskmaster when there was that doctor who everyone thought was Alex's dad? At 7:32 Tim says Alex's dad's name is Hugh. The doctor's name was Hugh. And we know Alex's dad was a doctor. If that wasn't Alex's dad, that's a really weird coincidence, and if he was, that's a really weird lie.

Alex’s dad was a GP. “Hugh” on TM was an anesthetist.

Based on 6:33, if I have to rank the players' tongues it's Horne, Watson, Key. Over.

That's a great strategy for someone that self destructs often. You scratch the itch from the beginning.

I would argue that David Dickinson, as an auctioneer and antique dealer, is often telling stories about the objects he buys/sells. They all tend to have an interesting history or they wouldn't be particularly valuable.
