hey yall, i need your help. so, im in middle school, and the first day back got me feeling like i wanted to die. the worst part is, i know why. i was misgendered and called my dead name all day. i didn't have the courage to speak up and correct my teachers, and even if i did, i don't know where to start. does anyone else have this problem, and how did you fix it? I'm afraid that i'll be told things like "you're too young to know", "that's not what god intended for you", "there are only two genders", and "ha ha! *SHE* " what do i do in this situation? theres another problem too. now, this isn't LGBTQ+ related, but im just asking in general since i dont have a therapist yet. so, im an actor. i take a lot of ride in acting. but i think im developing a personality disorder. im acting like myself, but ive lost sight of who i was. i need help finding myself again. annnnddd to top all that off, im the dad of the group (of friends). i take care of everyone to a very big degree. so much so, that if someone needs something ill give it, no matter what. Example: if someone needs a lunch, i will not only give them lunch money, i would give them my lunch. ok... that was a weak example, but you get my point. ill give blood until there's none left to bleed. how do i stop this?? how do I stop being overly kind? im sorry if i asked to much. i dont have anyone else to talk to, because im usually the one to talk to if you have a problem. ive been trying to be both the doctor and the patient in my situation rn. i know that i just kinda ranted, but thanks for listening if you got this far. im also sorry if im asking too much. im really, incredibly lost right now. Lord, that's a lot of writing. Edit: it's been a year now. I have been reading you guys' comments and I have never had so much faith in humanity and validation of my identity. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Yes, I am better now. I am seeing a mental health professional, and I'm definitely gaining mental stability. I love and thank you all.

As for the personality disorder, I've read that it's rare that a minor is diagnosed with one since we have fluctuating moods and such due to our age, but if you really think you have one, here's a PDF of the DSM-5 : cdn.website-editor.net/30f11123991548a0af708722d458e476/files/uploaded/DSM%2520V.pdf\ The section for personality disorders starts at page 645 which is actually page 677 in the pdf because the contents and introduction is really long. Please, please try to be honest with yourself when looking at the symptoms and make sure you're not just causing a self fulfilling propehercy, you're really really young and it's highly unlikely you're developing a personality disorder at such a young age. I'm saying this because even I thought I had one in middle school. Trust me, being confused is a normal part of middle school life. But if you still think you might have one, please talk to your school counselor or your parents as SOON as possible. I can't overstate how important clinical intervention is. As for misgendering and such, nonbinary identities are actually surprisingly accepted in a lot of parts of society. Try telling your favorite teacher about your newfound identity after class. I'm a nonbinary (demigirl) lesbian so unfortunately most of the recs I have are about nonbinary lesbianism. Try looking up nonbinary servers on Disboard (if you're above 13) and ask them about resources, they could help you. Joining and participating in the community can be really fun, and great for mental health as long as you're in the good sections. Lots of love and luck from an nb lesbian. ♥ PS: Other helpful things nonbinary.wiki/wiki/List_of_nonbinary_identities pronouny.xyz/ to put your pronouns up on social media in detail blogs.scientificamerican.com/voices/stop-using-phony-science-to-justify-transphobia/ super detailed article about being nonbinary chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/shinigami-eyes/ijcpiojgefnkmcadacmacogglhjdjphj?hl=en chrome extension that identifies trans friendly and transphobic websites with green and red respectively

They kept saying how using they them sounded weird to them until it rubbed off a little on me. Where previously it felt completely natural to me I now have to work at it again because now it doesn't feel as natural for some reason. I'm so friggin mad at myself!!! I will work at it until it is my default again and it feels completely natural for me to say and hear like it used to be. I'm so pissed at myself! @@Jcon4002 pronouns don't equal gender :) you can be nonbinary and not use pronouns that many people associate with binary genders. for example, someone who identifies as a woman might use he/him or they/them pronouns. likewise, someone who identifies as a man might use she/her or they/them. of course, there aren't the only pronoun sets, there are other types as well, but those are just the ones that i used for examples!! ^^ it's essentially just what you identify as + what you would like to be referred to as-- they *can* correlate with each other, but they don't *have* to correlate. i hope that this helped to explain it, apologies if it's too long!!

I have a really close friend (more like a younger sibling) who changed to they/them pronouns last summer. At first it was really hard to get the hang of since I didn’t know very many other non-binary people and I was used to calling them different pronouns. But I tried my best and eventually got the hang of it, because it is 100% worth that little extra effort so that they can feel comfortable and safe around me. Maybe it’s not so easy to adjust to new pronouns sometimes, but it’s no excuse to misgender someone because you’re too lazy to be a decent human being.

Yo, I’ve recently come out to myself as non-binary and i have never felt more myself. Idk if i am gonna be able to tell people any time soon, as it would probably put me in an unsafe environment, but maybe some of my close friends will be accepting. I feel so happy that I have finally found a label that fits me. :))

quick psa for all my lovely enbys: you dont have to present androgynously if you dont feel comfortable with it/dont have the resources to! you can present masculine, feminine, a mix of the two, or neither. do what makes you feel comfortable :) personally, i have a somewhat feminine/androgynous haircut, i dress feminine/androgynous and i go by she/her pronouns+a set of neopronouns i like. there is no "right" way to be an enby! just be you 💛🤍💜🖤

Kind of a tangent, but my amab non binary amigue wished there was more amab non-binary style and rep, like they find it difficult to express themselves properly and basically wear the same pair of jeans and tshirt everyday. A lot of non-binary rep, while amazing, is afab so we gotta break the stigma

I have a question! How do they them pronouns work? Can you use "they" or "them" to replace she/her/he/his? Or do you use "they" to replace she/he and "them" to replace her/his? Or does that depends on the person your speaking with?
@valk12574 жыл бұрын
So basically! You know how they and them work in plural (more than one person), right? Because they're the same words. They are going out. Those are their bottles. That is from them. So it's gonna work almost exactly the same if you're talking about a nonbinary/gender-non-comforming person. They are going out. That is their bottle That is from them. Ya got it? She / he - they Her(s) / his - their(s) Her / him - them So just practice with it, you'll get the hang of it. For example I'll pretend to tell you a short story of a nonbinary person called Robin. Robin was only 12 when they came out as nonbinary. They have lived with that identity for 5 years now and they couldn't be happier. Personally I'm very happy for them. Im glad they feel comfortable like that. And not to mention, their taste in fashion is great! See? Easy :D

Btw, not all non binary people go by they/them. Some of them do go by their original pronouns of she or he. I myself am exploring the feeling of being nb, and i would still prefer to be she/her. This is because for me being nb doesn't mean having to change pronouns, but just feeling comfortable and not caring about fitting the mould of male or female. I am still a she but i don't want to be made to act a certain way as a she. Does that makes sense? (I'm not so good with words) So if you know someone who is nb, ask them if they do go by they/them or not :)

A couple of my best friends know that I'm non-binary and one of them works in the same department as me at work and she always uses my correct pronouns no matter where we are and honestly, it's so sweet, but then i'm constantly scared of judgement. Then my other coworker was noticing that I was using they, them pronouns when talking about my partner and we had a little talk about it. I love how accepting my coworkers are though.

F in the chat for everyone who speaks a first language where there is no genderneutral pronoun that can be used for humans. In Germany, for example, some use 'es' which is the same as 'it' in English, or they use neopronuns (which are kinda akward because they need more explanation) or just use both male and female (which often results in one being used more often, which can be annoying).
