+Khang, I tried this mix with my chili pepper plants and found that it had too much Nitrogen for the plants and caused a bunch of problems with them. Through some experimenting I have found an awesome mix that you might want to try with them. It is 1/4 tsp FloraMicro, 2 tsp FloraGrow, 3 tsp FloraBloom, 1 tsp CalMag Plus, 1/2 tsp Epsom Salt. Since using this mix with both my soil and fully hydroponic plants I have had more growth in the last week than I have in the last month.

If you Ph your nutrient solution to 5.8 afterwards then your plants feed proper. Ph-ing before adding your solution will not keep it at 5.8. It will change drastically down or up. So you're trully not giving them their optimal feeding level with bad Ph-ing. Always Ph after. Cheers!

I use to do the same thing and I would add my flora/3 & cal/mag then check the ph only to find its way off again. I will say GH flora micro/grow/flower for the money is some really good nutes! Just use half of what they call for! your ladies will thank you for it. There in the business of selling so naturally there going to tell you to use more than is needed.
@richh76667 жыл бұрын
I know this video is old and not sure if you've changed your methods but adjusting pH prior to adding nutrients creates a false pH reading when you feed your plants as nutrients cause pH fluctuations as they are mixed. pH should be adjusted after adding all the nutrients to verify that you are feeding the correct pH to your plants. On the other hand, if you're experienced in mixing and knowing exactly how your nutrients will shift your pH, then adjusting will not apply.
@irxAlien7 жыл бұрын
If you lower the ph level of the rockwool it will speed up germination time, it's almost imperative for autoflowering. Also don't change the ph level of your feed water until after you have mixed the nutrients and 1ml each of the three part mix is basically a seedlings mix, you will need to up the dose after a few weeks

Out of all the videos, this video truly added to my baffled mind what actually should be added to water ! Other experienced KZbinrs, go on and on about how to start but do not go into details as you did! Thank you for being so detailed. I have a question about water: did you use just plain tap water? What if you want to further make it simple and not care about PH of water, will it still work? What would happen if the PH is off or high😂 If it is high or low, how do you be ng it to the 6-7 range? What do you add to make it right? Can you do a video about my questions? Thank you very much! Is it safe to eat lettuce or other things grown with these chemicals?

rockwool has a very high ph due to lime being left over from manufacturing. Rockwool cubes should be soaked overnight in water that has been PHed to 5.5 ( do not go under 5 it could damage your cube) and when done soaking PHed water should be ran through your cube to remove any residual lime. Then its good to go, otherwise you are going to have PH issues during your grow

The cal-mag mix you say you spill all the time... Try poring it "upside down " instead of having the opening not the bottom side as you pore try holding it so that the hole is on top ( I understand it's really hard to explain/understand but try googling it if it's not clear) basically the handle will be below the mouth opening in the jug as you pore instead of the handle being on top of the mouth opening. Helps stop all spills! One more way of explaining... As you are poring simply change 180* top to bottom. Hope on bottom to hole on top of container.

I really like your video, Good explanation, I'm a new beginner in Hydroponics and I already started with some seedlings (Tomato, Spinach, Pepper ) and i need some help with regards to nutrient solution. I live in the Uk and as you know its not a easy growing climate but since the summer is starting I'm trying to give it a shot. I got some miracle gro fertilize all purpose (NPK 24-8-16 , I mix the solution according to the instructions, I made 5 gal Uk (22.5ltr) checked my pH, now heres the thing i received some faulty ph meter, so they send me another one but i took reading from both meters one showed 6.58 and the other one shows 3.64, TDS reading 800, I also got a trunchon meter which reads ec 1.6 so on a 500 scale is 800 and on a 700 scale should be 1120 but i plant 2 tomato seedling 3 weeks old and it started to die, what I'm doing wrong here. Is it the nutrient or the ph. I get my tap water at 7.21 Please help me Thanks
@KhangStarr8 жыл бұрын
+Sidney Rodrigues pH is very important, if not set correctly, the plants will have trouble taking up vital nutrients. I don't want to get technical cus it's really a mess. Just get a good meter and measure pH between 5.9 - 6.5. Mix your nutrients as recommended on the bottle and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the video. Have been watching KZbin videos for three days now on Hydroponics. I am a newbie and live in Australia. I have searched for "masterblend" and it is not available over here. If you look for nutrients online you just find a whole lot of hydro stores that sell a lot of very expensive products with trademark names with very little info on what is required for a simple lettuce.Everybody tells you how to build the system but there is no info on what nutrients to put in the water and how much. Very poor marketing, obviously their only demographic is the experienced grower. What up! I'm a true beginner, I've never planted anything in my life. I've been studying gardening for about 2 1/2 weeks and have learned a lot. I plan to do everything in buckets and containers. I want to try 3 methods to see what works best. 1st, one bucket with just soil and holes at the bottom of the container, I'm guessing this is the traditional way. Question, if I were to use nutrient water for hydroponics rather than just water, would my plants grow bigger and produce more? 2nd, 2 bucket self watering system, you know, dirt at the top water at the bottom. Question..... Pretty much the same as the first. 3rd, kratky hydroponics system.... I've taken a serious liken to this way but as a true beginner I think it would be wise for me to master the first 2 before trying this way.
@Marelyn12347 жыл бұрын
Aaron Johnson im having a hard time getting things to grow using Kratky method and have invested in lights, nutrients, containers etc, however it is the most affordable route as far as hydroponics is concerned. I personally would recommend you start there and play with nutrients and various greens before investing hundreds in a rail system.

Ive had the best luck seeding anything by simply putting the seed in a jar with half dirt and it sitting on top. the humidty sprouts anything. if you put a cutting of a plant in a jar it also grows roots out anywhere on the stem. pre-root the plants like this, then cut and propagate with roots.
@tury3159 жыл бұрын
So say im growing peppers or herbs. The container will be perminet for the peppers and herbs. How often do I need to change the water? Also the roots might be getting long after a while. Do i need to trim the roots? Thanks.
@KhangStarr9 жыл бұрын
+Arturo Apac It's best to always change out fresh nutrients every 2-3 weeks. The reason for this is because plants sometimes used up a certain nutrients faster, leaving the rest behind. After a few weeks, the nutrients may be out of balance. This is why it's best to grow the same plants in same containers if you're planning to grow multiple plants in the same bin. Also, make sure to check your pH every few days, especially if your pepper plants are blooming. Imbalanced pH will cause flowers to drop. When refilling, you must leave a good air space for the plants to breath since Kratky does not require an airstone. You don't need to trim the roots as they get longer.
