So many people sleep on og dragonball and surprisingly a large chunk of the fan base has never seen it because it wasn’t shown to American audiences while dbz was so many people started off on dbz which is crazy to me as there is a major storyline before all of dbz

​@@ssickhead1 They started airing Dragon Ball after they already aired DBZ. Yes, they aired all episodes. I know because I watched it; however, they did not syndicate it the same way they did DBZ. Therefore, if you didn't watch it, you missed it.

The reason why you have the misconception that there would be more openings is because Dragon Ball has this thing where they like to keep the same openings but change the visuals depending on the current arc they are on. If they put all the openings with all the visual changes in one video it would be over an hour long. So if you ever get to watch the show, every arc you'll see the visuals change for it. Hope that clears it up!

I think the reason why the music kinda threw you off a bit at first probably was because in America dbz first came with a different opening and osts than the Japanese ones. While in the Japanese version of the anime they use this kinda more mystical music the american version is all rock, even the openings reflect that 'chala head chala' compared with "Rock the Dragon" the difference in music style is astounding

As a long time fan of this amazing show this is my advice: 1. Watch dragonball original 2. Watch dragonball z 3. Watch dragonball super 4. Don’t watch GT (unless I’m your own time 5. Don’t care about super dragonball heroes Dragonball, dbz and db super is the main story starting from goku as a kid to later as a man. I personally would love reactions as almost no channels do it nowadays. I recommend reacting to the 3 main series as that is where it’s at its best. Og dragonball has lots of adult humour which is great. Dbz has amazing action and is the most famous anime ever and db super is the continuation of that. Hope this helps

I put off watching GoT for years for the same reason you mentioned. But trust me, the first few series are great. Having just finished the original Dragon Ball (japanese voice / english sub) for the first time in my life I can say it's the most purest of them. There's great humor, good amount of action and it makes even a grown man cry and laugh. Amazing feeling and I'm kinda bummed that it's done now, but I will rewatch it some time. Now I'm about to start DBZ for the first time with japanese original voice (watched the dub as a kid) as well as some of the movies.

If you really want to watch Dragon Ball and, above all, understand it, you have to start with Dragon Ball Classic, it is from Son Goku's childhood to young adulthood, then Dragon Ball Z (Dragon Ball Z Kai if you want to watch it without filler), you don't have to watch Dragon Ball GT because it isn't part of the official canon, then comes Dragon Ball Super, otherwise you won't understand anything in that order

You have a lot of questions, i have answers: - Dragon Ball & Dragon Ball Z are the original written mangas by Akira Toriyama from 1984 to 1995, the anime adaptation began in 1986. - The spiky hair kid who seems to be the protagonist is Goku the main character, Goku becomes an adult in Z, loses his tail and has a son, the kid with the tail in Z's opening is his son called Gohan. In the 3rd Opening there is another kid who looks like Goku, that's Goten his second son. - Dragon Ball Z Kai is a remake from Dragon Ball Z; more faithful to the manga. - The show is called "Dragon Ball" because of those 7 lightning spheres, that are called "the dragon balls" once gathered a Giant Dragon appears to grand the summoner any wish they desire. - GT and Super are not really that canon cuz in GT, the creator had very limited intervention, he only gave "suggestions". Eventhough DB Super is promoted as canon by Toei Animation, Bird Studio Shueisha, Fuji TV and Bandai; it's just a marketing process. Super is still ongoing, but the creator has very limited interventions as well, plus he is not as young as he was when he was writting Original DB & Z. - Super Dragon Ball Heroes is a promotional anime for a videogame call "Dragon Ball Heroes". That's basically Dragon Ball in a nutshell.

How come Super would be canon if the Original Manga has concluded 28 years ago and Toriyama is basically retired at this point??? he only signs his name on anything that the Shonen Jump Magazine, Fuji TV, Toei Animation and Bandai ask him to be a part of; because is a big merchandise strategy to "have the creator's name" on any modern Dragon Ball product. I mean the dude gives "suggestions" on what is cool and what is not; another manga writter is writting Super and Toei Animation makes the Anime. Where is the "Canon" in all of this ???

The FUNimation dub of dragon Ball z with Bruce falconer music is what people refer to when they say "the most hype music", it's a English dub with exclusive music that is extremely hype, but that version of dbz has a lot of filler, but a lot of us grew up with that version of DBZ and the music was very memorable, it's DBZ with Bruce faulconer music.

You were on the money, that last one was for sure a spin-off of some sort. Also GT isn't canonical, it's a continuation from Dragoon Ball Z, just like Dragon Ball Super, but an alternate story where Goku gets reverted back to his kid form. GT is so popular because it came out way before Super, so people watched it before Super came out and many assumed it was the canon storyline up until then.

Dragonball Z Kai is just a Remake of Dragonball Z, where they cut out the filler episodes etc. - You really should watch the OG Dragonball first (i've seen some comments, that it's not required - it IS!) After that go on to DBZ (I mean KAI is good too, but the filler episodes from Dragonball Z are just too funny to skip haha) DBGT is smth what i would call a different route / or story - it starts directly after Z - but def not required to watch (not bad tho) Dragonball Super is not that good IMO, you should watch it anyway.
