When it comes to the statues, the best way to fight them is to disarm them, then use Ancient Magic Throw to catch their weapon in mid-air and throw it at them (not sure if you've unlocked that ability in the tree yet, if not, as soon as you can, do so). As for the protego thing, I use a keyboard and mouse, so combat is a bit easier than with a controller (while flying on a broom is the opposite, ironically), but, if you keep the button for protego pressed after sucessfully blocking an attack, you should hit the enemy that just attacked you with a stupify, stunning them. This also works on statues. Also, I HIGHLY recommend learning the Unforgivable curses. They’re optional so you don’t have to learn them to finish the story, BUT in a fight, they can be a life saver, especially if you get their upgrades from the talent tree. I also highly recommend you practice combat in the duelling club. You will need it.

I am encouraging the Mrs. to practice quite often. However, we have been so busy these past few weeks. I even had to drop a vid last week due to it. I love hearing we could grab the statue swords and send them back with force. Might be too much for her to catch mid-battle but I will do that in mine. I will certainly mentioned the Unforgivables if they give her an edge. Nothing beats real practice though, right? I started my own play-through yet making sure I do not pass her progression. I want our reactions to stay authentic in the recordings, but get a stronger feel of the game to better help.

@@notthebestgaming4870 I just hope she doesn't rage-quit before you guys reach the end of Sebastian's story arc, or the end of the game proper. (though to be fair, Poppy and Natty also have really good story arcs, Amit, not so much :P Ravenclaw really got screwed over) Though i will say that when you get to the mission "In the Shadow of the Relic" turn off the subtitles, as something happens during a cutscene that the subtitles spoil, as the devs never thought to have the two lines of dialogue in question made seperate, so you see the spoiler-dialogue before the event itself, just a heads up. :P

She may need to rely on her panic buttons more often. Which I have no complaint on, I get more time to play. Despite her frustrations at combat she really enjoys goofing around in the castle, and she will certainly see Sebastian's arc thru. 😆
