How often is it necessary to restrain a log home??

There are many factors that need to be considered. The protection from weather nearby trees or large roof overhangs definitely help and it also depends how harsh and how windy the climate is. On the south side side of the house because of the sun,. it might need to be re-stained every 5 to 10 years, but the rest of the house might be good for 20 years.
