There are currently no practical options for non-military long-term defence of commercial ships against attack by radar homing missiles, as is occurring in the Red Sea and present. Lethal self-defence weapons cannot be legally fitted to commercial ships inside 12 nautical miles from any shore.
A jammer is a nonlethal option, and although there are a number of systems to choose from, each must be programmed by the user, and the programming relies on classified government-owned missile ID databases.
This video proposes a new approach: a containerized, fully-automatic cognitive Crosspol-based onboard jammer which is delivered preprogrammed with a behaviour rule set. This is a turn-key solution which has is no reliance on third-party information or assistance.
The objective is a solution which will allow insurance companies to continue to underwrite ship, crew, and cargo by rendering it safe to navigate passages which might otherwise dangerous.
Venture capital is needed to create the first article. A large company is needed to license the technology, then productize, maintain and service the jammer.
