I am an electrician by trade and you wired your subpanels correctly a lot people make a mistake here. As in the only place the ground should be bonded is on the main panel on the subpanels you need to run a 4th wire and isolate the ground from the neutral which you did a good job...

I live in the Dallas Tx area. In winter our water is very cold, like it has been in the ice chest with ice. In the summer time our cold water is almost like bath water. Makes it nice for kids to play in sprinklers in summer. Enjoy watching as always, take care.

Hi guys, I’m so glad you two just dropped in when you did. I needed some honest context. Been stuck in bed sick since a couple days before Christmas. Very first case of the flu in my life and didn’t handle it to well. Your disclaimer about not being a professional in anything keeps me subscribed to y’all. You own it and I appreciate it. Take care and stay safe 😊

Aww, so sorry to hear you've been sick! We had the flu in early December and it took us about 12 days solid to feel better. I (Sam) had a secondary infection of bronchitis that required steroids and also an inhaler to finally get rid of.

Good morning y’all!! I’m sure it’s a relief to get your out buildings all wired up to the grid. Agree, Angela, washing oily items is not fun using cold water.
@markchidester62392 жыл бұрын
Good job. One thing you didn't mention is with the larger wire. You need to tighten the lugs to the proper torque, loosen them, tighten them, loosen them, then torque them again. The reason is the strands shift and squish out sideways. If you didn't do this, you will want to. You will most likely find them loose. Also, over time, lugs can loosen up due to heat cycles. It is a good idea to retorque screw terminals on your breakers after a few years of use. You'll be surprised how they loosen. Glad to see that you used the goop to prevent corrosion.

I did electrical design from 1983 to 2018. You have done very well on your installations with one exception. In NEC, the Article to do with outdoor branch circuits and feeders, it states that where an outdoor feeder enters a detached structure, you must have a means of disconnect. Since you put in MLO panels, you do not have your conductors connected to a breaker which could be the required disconnecting means. If you need the article number, I can look it up for you. Safety switches would also work. Best wishes, Kevin

I'm not a pro so my advice is not as wallet friendly but when doing outdoor connections use exterior rated ductseal and with the concentric ring knockouts with the larger conduits use ductseal and the reducing washers anyways. Those ring knockouts are not that watertight over time especially in frog freeze areas

Looks very clean and well done. You probably already know but you should make sure to wiggle the wires, tight, wiggle again and tighten until it won't tighten anymore. AAs you tighten the cables the strands expand, that's you need to wiggle tighten. If you didn't, yo uwill notice how loose the wires are.

good work.. a tip for removing KO's is to use a small bit and drill out the spot weld and then file smooth. also it may not be required but good to use is a slip joint where conduits come out of ground to allow the heaving and contracting of the ground and movement of the buildings with ground up and down.

Hi Sam., i'm an electrican in Germany and i wonder what's inside the tube that you use after dismantling the cable. Under screw-terminals you normally use wire-end ferrules cause of the high pressure a screw terminal produces.
