It's actually called "Moano Ukali". 🤙🏾 Your gyotaku is beautiful. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 Shadowbox that baby!
@SakanaSyndicate2 күн бұрын
Thank you for that info! I’ve also seen and heard it called Moano Kea, which one is correct? Is the name situation similar Weke Ula and Weke Nono?
@leimanaabenes72 күн бұрын
@@SakanaSyndicate Both weke and moano are goatfishes. For the weke, there's weke ʻā or weke keʻokeʻo (white weke), weke ahulu/pahulu (nightmare weke), weke pueo (stripes on tail similar to our pueo maoli), weke nono (red weke), weke ʻula (The color "effect" of a school of weke ʻula is not red but yellow. They show themselves red when taken out of the water). As for the moano, the young are either called ʻāhua or ʻōhua. And yes, the most beautiful of all moano, is the bluish and yellow moano ukali, which some refer to as moano kea also. Some tend to have more white or lighter color, rather than the vibrant moano ukali. That's one of my favorite fishes to eat, besides kole, ʻōʻio, āholehole, uhu, and ʻūʻū (manpachi).

Man Bradda I hate that you microwaved that fish but it was a great video.
@SakanaSyndicateКүн бұрын
Thank you! To be honest this microwave style comes out the same quality as steamed. The first time I tried it I was skeptical, but it really does the job and well too 🤙🏻

Awesome video!!!! This vid had it all, from the crystal clear dive to the pole fishing and night diving, as well the catch and cook. If I wasn't a subscriber already, I am now. What kind of gun were you using, was it a rob allen?

Thank you! For my brushes and paint I get from my local craft supply store. The paper I travel to Japan to get, but you can use fabric as an alternative 🤙🏻

Another amazing video. You are living the dream. Im 50 years old, and i used to do everything you do fishing growing up in hawaii, but you take it to a way better level, especially your cooking skills in your video. I'm watching from Texas. 🤙🙏
